As a mom of three and aunt to many, I’ve put together plenty of tips for babies at Disneyland. Most people would think a Disneyland vacation is out of the question with a new baby, but there are plenty of surprises and tips on why a Disneyland trip is no only doable but totally smart with a baby.

The Basics for Babies at Disneyland
It’s never too early to start your baby’s love affair with Disneyland. When you bring a baby to the Disneyland Resort, you’re going to have a different experience than if it were an adults only trip or even a trip with school-aged children. But don’t let that baby keep you away! There’s still tons to do and enjoy even with a baby at Disneyland.
Here’s why I suggest taking that trip to Disneyland even with a baby:

- there are more than 20 attractions at Disneyland Park alone that babies can ride with their adults, keep reading because I name them all below
- the baby won’t remember it, but you will and the memories, photos and special moments will last a lifetime
- Baby Care Centers in each park offer a calm, soothing place to escape any time of day
What to Bring with Babies at Disneyland
I have brought all my children to Disneyland as newborns, babies and/or toddlers. I even persuaded my sister to bring her newborn to Disneyland too. It’s certainly a different type of trip, but it’s definitely worth it if you plan and prepare well.
As a new (or returning) parent, you’ve probably learned the art of a well stocked diaper bag. Now is the time to turn that knowledge into action!
Bring a fully stocked diaper bag to Disneyland with these essentials, plus some convenience items you’ll definitely be glad you had on hand.

Disneyland Diaper Bag Must Haves
- Diapers! And plenty of them. If you’re traveling from out of town, read about how you can order groceries and diapers to be delivered right to your hotel room. Pack about 1 diaper per hour you’re in the park, plus a few extra.
- Baby wipes. Wipes are not only good for keeping baby’s bum clean but any surfaces that need a little sparkle. I carry these for giant-sucker-sticky-hands clean up too.
- Hand sanitizer. A life saver after holding onto railings and lap bars on rides.
- Ziplock bags, gallon size. Perfect for storing clothing after a blow out or saving those silly giant suckers your older kids will never be able to finish.
(Joshua Sudock/Disneyland Resort) - Change of clothes for caregivers and baby. Because you never know when said blow out will occur.
- If you plan to baby wear, practice using it before so you can both be more comfortable at the park.
- Blankets and burp cloths for cleaning up and staying warm.
- Bottles, formula, frozen milk and anything else you need to keep the baby nice and full. Keep reading for more tips on feeding time below.
- Socks or shoes, yes we know the baby can’t walk but Cast Members may require baby to at least be wearing socks before boarding a ride.
- Ear protection—the rides at Disneyland can be extremely loud for sensitive ears.
Strollers at Disneyland
With a good stroller, you might be comfortable keeping everything in the basket below. Or you can always choose to rent a locker at Disneyland. I always used a stroller as a portable locker, but remember never to leave valuables unattended in a stroller.
A few things to note about strollers at Disneyland:
- Stroller size restrictions are in place at Disneyland, see more on strollers Disneyland allows here
- Disneyland rents strollers, but they are hard plastic and do not recline so they’re better for toddlers
- Make sure you stroller offers plenty of shade
- Add a clip on fan to your stroller during warmer months
- Purchase a rain cover for your stroller if rain is in the forecast

While there are so many attractions babies can participate in (as listed above), it doesn’t mean they should. Depending on your baby’s age and what they’re aware of, I might have different recommendations.

More Things to Do with Babies at Disneyland
Don’t forget to add in some magic with your baby at Disneyland, including special moments full of memories. I suggest doing some of these things with your baby at Disneyland:

- Live shows are some of my favorite things at Disneyland
- Parades are a great way to unwind with the entire family at Disneyland
- Enjoy a meal with some of your favorite Disney characters

Feeding Babies at Disneyland
I am not one to sit out on the fun, so when we took our infant to Disneyland, I took advantage of longer rides like Pirates and it’s a small world for feeding time.
My baby was so little when we took our trip that a few times she fell asleep nursing and I just kept the nursing cover on and let her sleep under it while I carried her around the park. Feel free to use benches, tables and chairs or really any comfy spot throughout the park as a pit stop as well.
If you’re nursing you might try the following attractions for feeding time:

- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage (once you get down those steep steps first)

Feeding & More at the Baby Care Center
Need a little privacy or just a break? Enter the Baby Care Center. This full service, complimentary facility in both parks (Main Street next to First Aid, and near Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park and next to Ghirardelli at California Adventure) is your best bet for privacy and amenities.

No babies at Disneyland article is complete without giving you permission to have fun! Having a newborn is stressful, and being out of your element can make things even more chaotic. Just remember to have fun and relax.
