What to Eat for Breakfast at Disneyland

Rise and dine it’s breakfast at Disneyland time! Come and eat Mickey waffles, pastries, eggs, bacon and all the deliciousness breakfast has to offer at Disneyland Resort.Disneyland breakfast

I am normally a huge advocate for staying at a hotel with complementary breakfast, and I still recommend doing so but I also love a good Disneyland breakfast every once in a while.

Taking the time to sit and enjoy breakfast at Disneyland changes your Disneyland experience. You can still catch a bunch of morning rides (read about how we do 10 rides in 2 hours!) and enjoy delicious food at nearly empty restaurants.

Another advantage to breakfast at Disneyland is it pushes lunch back an hour or more which means you’ll be ready for lunch (and dinner) at non-peak hours. Less waiting in line and more delicious food options. Adding breakfast to your Disneyland itinerary can up your spending, so if you’re on a budget be sure to check out 10 Disneyland Meals for $10.

Coffee at Disneyland

Market House on Main Street has your coffee! If you’re like most Disneyland goers, your first stop is the Market House on Main Street, U.S.A. (aka Starbucks).

It’s probably no surprise that this place has a long line from the moment Disneyland opens. You can grab your favorite Starbuck’s coffee here (and at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe) for a quick to-go option. P.S. there are now TWO Starbucks locations at Downtown Disney, get your morning fix there for less waits!

Where can I get coffee at Disneyland? Quick service coffee for breakfast at Disneyland Resort includes:

  • Candy Palace – Main Street, U.S.A., Disneyland
  • The Coffee House – Disneyland Hotel
  • Cozy Cone Motel – Cars Land, California Adventure
  • Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe – Buena Vista Street, California Adventure

Carnation Cafe on Main Street, U.S.A. In the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., on your left hand side if you’re heading toward the castle is Carnation Cafe. If you’re a Disney history buff, you must eat here. In the past, you could also meet Chef Oscar, a real-deal Disneyland celebrity (Who’s Oscar? Find out here and here); meeting him was a highlight of my Disneyland career. You can make reservations for Carnation Cafe online or via the Disneyland app.

You will recognize Carnation Cafe by its signature red and white umbrellas. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. I can’t help but go for Oscar’s Choice: All American Breakfast with Oscar’s famous potatoes.

My friend chose the Eggs Benedict and we both agreed the entrees offered plenty of food to fill our bellies well into the afternoon. Mickey waffles also served here. See Carnation Cafe’s Breakfast Menu.

Plaza Inn Character Breakfast with Minnie & Friends. Plaza Inn on Main Street stands out with its pink umbrellas and is the only option for a character breakfast inside Disneyland park. “Minnie and Friends” serves made-to-order omelets and a full breakfast buffet. Disneyland admission is required and reservations are recommended. Read more about Plaza Inn Breakfast here.

Churros for breakfast. If you’re hoping to snag churros for breakfast, most churro carts don’t open until 10:30 am or 11:00 am depending on the season. Total missed opportunity if you ask me. However, you can get fresh fruit for breakfast at carts throughout the park. Not quite the same, we know.

Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street, U.S.A. Looking for a quick breakfast that is still delicious, Jolly Holiday is on your left at the end of Main Street (when you face the castle) with yellow umbrellas. Muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls and a variety of espressos abound.

Jolly Holiday is also the place for Disneyland donuts! You’ll find a variety of specialty donuts which sell out fast, so make it an early stop if you want to try the famous s’mores or Dole Whip donut.

Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland. Star Tours, Hyperspace Mountain and everything Star Wars at Disneyland is your first stop, you can still grab a bite to eat at Galactic Grill. There is a small breakfast sampling including Darth Tamale, French toast sticks and more. See Galactic Grill’s Breakfast Menu.

Market House on Main Street, U.S.A. in addition to Starbucks coffee serves pastries, muffins and more.

Disneyland parfait

Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland. Breakfast with a Mexican flare (chorizo and egg burrito, fajita breakfast platter and more), plus Disneyland staples like Mickey shaped pancakes. You’ll find this area of the park calm and cool for a relaxing breakfast at Disneyland. See Rancho del Zocalo’s Breakfast Menu. This location no longer serves breakfast.

Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland. Serving up quick bites like Mickey pancakes, breakfast flatbread and veggie hash.

Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land. Each cone at the Cozy Cone Motel serves up a different snack. At breakfast time you can expect a couple of the cones to be serving up different items. We went with churros dipped in caramel sauce (totally breakfast, right?) and pretzel bites in cheese sauce. Again, the seating area was empty and we picked a spot right in front of the Lightening McQueen meet and greet. What a great morning!

Fairfax Market and Schmoozies in Hollywood Land. These quick options in Hollywood Land offer smoothies, coffees and assorted fruits. If your first stop is the Monsters Inc ride or you’re just making your way to Tower of Terror, either of these options offer a simple breakfast to grab and go.

Fiddler, Fifer & Practical on Buena Vista Street. Enjoy assorted pastries, breakfast sandwiches and wraps including a delicious spinach, feta and egg white wrap. Plus tons of espressos, frappucinnos, Starbucks refreshers, coffees, teas and smoothies.

Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land. This Route 66 inspired diner was on my list for breakfast during my last visit and you’re about to see why. With ample indoor and outdoor seating, we split an order of the Brioche French Toast and took a seat outside near Radiator Springs Racers. We had the place practically to ourselves and then went over to the Cozy Cone Motel to sample some more “breakfast” food.

Schmoozies in Hollywood Land. Smoothies for the win! I love getting smoothies here for my family, ask for extra cups and split them up for little ones. It’s a great breakfast on the go and easy on excited tummies.

I loved eating breakfast at Rancho del Zocalo last time I was there, and they even had a delicious gluten free option. Heading there in May and hope to recreate that yummy experience.
You also cannot beat sitting at the Carnation Cafe and watching people wander by using the Max Pass and planning out my day….sigh (also great Gluten Free options)

In Downtown Disney, don’t forget Earl of Sandwich! Their toasted breakfast sandwiches are delicious, filling, and reasonably priced! My favorite stop when walking to the parks from Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel.

  • I love breakfast food, and at Disneyland?! Yum! I could really go for something from Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland right now! If we ever get to there, I will be sure to check out some of these places! Thanks!
