Disney California Adventure and Pregnant

Disney California Adventure and pregnant? No, this has nothing to do with which pregnant Kardashian was spotted at Disneyland Resort lately. This is for the mamas and mamas-to-be who are heading to Disneyland Resort with a baby bump (and if you happen to be a pregnant celeb, this works for you too!).Disneyland Resort Pregnant at California Adventure

You’re absolutely glowing and it’s a great time to take some cute maternity pics with an embroidered Mickey hatDisneyland Resort Pregnant at California Adventure—and then what? What’s a pregnant lady to do at Disney California Adventure?

What can I ride at California Adventure if I’m pregnant?

A handful of rides and lots of experience-type attractions, it’s actually the perfect way to spend your Disneyland Resort day and not be on your feet as much as you would be over at Disneyland. See our Disneyland and Pregnant ride guide here and keep reading for details on California Adventure.

New! We’ve added an expectant mom Disneyland Plan to our growing collection (see what I did there?).  Our Disneyland Plan is available to print at home and has your whole Disneyland day planned out for you including breaks and food! This plan also includes a bonus plan for your day at California Adventure Park.

Note: This is not medical advice, always consult your physician before riding any attractions.

Disney California Adventure and Pregnant Rumors

We covered the rumor mill in our original article Disneyland and pregnant but just incase it’s not clear, let’s get this out of the way. Do not attempt to deliver your baby at California Adventure or Disneyland Resort.

Your child will NOT get a lifetime pass or even free churros on every visit. Read more about this urban legend here.

Another rumor that’s circulating the web is a “pregnancy pass” to skip the lines. This is a little misleading. Disneyland uses the Disability Access Pass, which pregnant women might be offered on rare occasions. Typically, they will just refer you to renting a wheel chair instead and you can read those guidelines here.

But be warned, you will not skip waiting, you will just be given a return time and are free to do something else while you wait. This just makes it easier on your feet and body.

What’s not a Disneyland and Pregnant rumor? You can get discount Disneyland tickets with our partners at Get Away Today, plus enjoy even more savings when you combine tickets with a hotel. Use promo code DisneylandPlan and save an additional $10 on qualifying Disneyland packages.Package

What can I ride when I’m pregnant at California Adventure?

The first thing pregnant women at Disneyland Resort want to know is, “Is it worth going? What can I ride anyway?†Yes, it’s absolutely worth going. And all of these attractions are just some of the reasons why.

Disneyland and Pregnant Rides (see photos of seating arrangements here). All Pregnancy approved attractions, but remember to always check with your doctor first.

Let's Work Together and find what pregnant women can ride at Disney California Adventure.

  • Animation Academy. Learn to draw your favorite Disney characters in a nice air conditioned room.
  • Beast’s Library
  • Frozen-Live at the Hyperion! Broadway style musical in air conditioned building. Ask to be seated closer to the front so you’ll have less stairs to climb.
  • Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. What used to be Flik’s Flyers in a bug’s land has a whole new look and location at Pixar Pier.
  • The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Just like the classic dark rides at Disneyland Park, it’s smooth sailing on this journey under the sea.
  • Jessie’s Critter Carousel. If you’re okay to go up and down on a critter, hop aboard–otherwise there are a couple of benches available to keep things stable.
  • Mickey’s Philharmagic.
  • Red Car Trolley. Take a ride down Buena Vista Street and through Hollywood Land. Stops along the route make it easy to jump on and off whenever you’d like.
  • Sorcerer’s Workshop. A hidden gem in Hollywood Land with hands on activities you do at your own pace.
  • Toy Story Midway Mania. Turns are smooth but may be a little too quick, so be aware of that before boarding this interactive, gaming attraction.
  • Turtle Talk with Crush. Duuudddde! Get face to face with Crush from the Nemo movies and chat about cool stuff.
  • Pixar Pal-A-Round. Stable gondola only for the traditional ferris wheel ride.
  • Monsters Inc, Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. Join Mike & Sulley on an adventure to get Boo home.

California Adventure and Pregnant Don’t Ride

Next we’re talking what not to ride. The list of prohibited rides is relatively short so you can actually enjoy a Disneyland Resort vacation even when you’re pregnant.

Monsters Inc, always watching you

  • Goofy’s Sky School
  • Grizzly River Run
  • Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT!
  • Incredicoaster
  • Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree
  • Radiator Springs Racers
  • Toy Story Midway Mania (too quick movements for some)

Disney California Adventure and Pregnant Cool Off

You need a place to relax and we’re here to help.

Buena Vista Street Break Spots

Buena Vista Street is a fabulous place to hang out when you need a cool place to relax. I recommend the benches underneath the shaded overhead bridge or under a tree near the restroom and lockers.

You’ll also find Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe where you can relax inside and enjoy a snack, coffee or hot cocoa. Another favorite is Carthay Circle Lounge. Inside is cool and dark, there may be a bit of a wait outside for a table but the plush and relaxing interior with small plates are worth the stop.

The First Aid Center is also located on Buena Vista Street should you need any medical assistance or over the counter medication, head here.

If your feet just need a break but your kids are still busy and ready to play at the parks, Buena Vista Street is also a stop for the Red Car Trolley (when in service) which will give you a short break into Avengers Campus

Hollywood Land Rest Stops

Inside the Animation Building is a ton of things to keep everyone busy and entertained. The calm lighting and air conditioning make it a haven for those needing a break.

Be sure to explore:

  • Animation Academy
  • Beast’s Library
  • Turtle Talk with Crush
  • Sorcerer’s Workshop
  • The lobby for a beautiful animation and music display

I also enjoy a break inside Mickey’s Philharmagic to sit down and keep the kids entertained. I mentioned Frozen in our initial list and it’s still one of my favorites!

Avengers Campus Break Spots

Avengers Campus information is all here! Learn about the newest land at Disneyland Resort before your visit.

Cars Land Rest Stops

Cars Land is mostly sunny and hot, but one spot that always calls my name for a break is outside at Flo’s V8 Cafe. Go to the side (south if you’re that kinda direction person) where you can see the cars race by on Radiator Springs Racers. Keep going—there’s tons of seating and lots of quieter places.

Pacific Wharf Break Spots

Pacific Wharf is home to the Baby Care Center on near Ghirardelli. In the Baby Care Center, you can take a rest from the noise and crowds. Otherwise, grab a seat at one of the many umbrella covered tables throughout this large food-court type area.

Pixar Pier Rest Stops

Pixar Pier isn’t the best chill and relax spot, but Lamplight Lounge is a great break—especially if you have a reservation.

Paradise Gardens Park Break Spots

The food and dining area in Paradise Gardens is beautiful and offers plenty of seating. Throughout the year there may be live entertainment in the area as well.

Grizzly Peak Rest Stops

If your feet just need a break but your kids are still busy and ready to play at the parks, you can let them run around in another favorite play area Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Grizzly Peak. My kids love this area.
