Candy cane and Disneyland enthusiasts alike await the Candy Cane dates all year long. If you’re a Magic Key Holder or frequent park visitor, you may have noticed a sign displayed in the window of Candy Palace and Trolley Treats, announcing their arrival in November . . . and of course all the buzz on social media.

Disney says, “For a chance to purchase one of the candy canes this year, a mobile waitlist system will be used, as quantities are very limited. Once the mobile waitlist is activated, you can add your name and phone number at the location to receive a text back with a time to return to the location for the opportunity to purchase your candy cane, subject to availability.** Candy canes are not available through mobile order.“
How do I get a Disneyland Candy Cane?
Okay so you’re up for the hype, you’re down to pay the cash, now how do I get a Disneyland candy cane?
Your best chance for getting a Disneyland candy cane is to line up about 30 minutes before the park opens. This is my normal recommendation during the holidays, whether you’re getting a candy cane or not, I urge you to be at the gates at least 30 minutes before park opening.

Find the candy cane virtual wait on the Disneyland App. If you can’t find it ask a Cast Members to help. Disneyland will NOT be distributing wristbands like in the past. We anticipate virtual wait list to be limited to one per person and one Disneyland candy cane.
Again your entrance into the virtual wait list entitles you to purchase one Disneyland candy cane at a later time that day. You must come back to the designated spot at the designated time to purchase your candy cane, otherwise it will be offered to other guests on a first-come first-served basis and usually after 3:00 pm.
Your candy cane is delicate and no replacements will be given; it comes wrapped in bubble wrap and I suggest securing a Disneyland locker to store your precious belongings.
How long will it take to get my Disneyland Candy Cane?
You may have seen headlines saying people wait hours in line to secure candy canes. Long waits can happen, but the virtual wait list aims to eliminate the physical wait. Go and enjoy the other holiday elements of the parks while you wait for your text.
When I sent my friend to be my boots on the ground for this article, her experience was quick, simple and efficient. She spent no more time waiting in line for candy cane then she would have to stop and take a few quick photos upon entering the park.
When she came back at the designed time to purchase her candy cane, there was a small number of people returning at the same time which made the lines move even quicker.
