Mickey’s breakfast at Disneyland—nestled in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you’ll find Mickey’s Tales of Adventure character dining at Storytellers Cafe.
Here’s all the details on dining with Mickey Mouse and your favorite classic characters.
Mickey’s Breakfast at Disneyland Cost
I used to think character dining was a waste—an overpriced meal just eating up my in-park ride time. Prices may change but as of 12/31/18 it is $39 for adults, $23 for children (ages 3-9) plus tax and tip (read about how to handle gratuity here).
I have since tried most character dining options at Disneyland Resort, and there is a reason I keep coming back. Actually, several reasons!
- I love the character dining options outside the parks because you don’t need a park ticket.
- I love the food! Yes, I actually enjoy a good buffet.
- The character interaction is truly exceptional and simply can’t be matched with quick meet-ups inside the parks.
Mickey’s Breakfast at Disneyland Location
Where is Mickey’s Breakfast at Disneyland located? Mickey’s Tales of Adventure character dining is located at Storytellers Cafe inside the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
You can park on-site at the hotel with validation, walk through Downtown Disney or exit California Adventure Park right into the hotel to get to your character dining reservation.
You will need a dining reservation but you WILL NOT need theme park admission to attend this meal. You don’t even need to be a hotel guest to eat here.
Mickey’s Breakfast Characters
Come on over and meet Mickey Mouse, along with his Disney friends!
We know you’re here to meet as many characters as possible and while the line-up can and does change, Mickey Mouse is a guaranteed meet and greet at this dining location. At press time, there are NO PhotoPass photographers at Storytellers Cafe.
If you have Disney MaxPass, you’ll be able to download photos in the parks from later that day.
What characters will I meet during Mickey’s Breakfast at Disneyland? Character selections vary but you can count of meeting Mickey Mouse and possibly these Disney characters:
- Minnie Mouse
- Chip
- Dale
- Pluto
Who else have you seen at Mickey’s Breakfast? We’d love to see some of the critters from the previous character breakfast added to the rotation. Add your Disney character encounters to the comments.
Bonus tip: please speak to a Cast Member early and often if one of the characters seems to skip your table. We had a group of 4 tables waiting and waiting for Mickey Mouse. We had to speak to Cast Members 3 different times, it’s ok to speak up. 🙂
Mickey’s Breakfast Food
Here’s where things get tasty! We met for a 10:30 breakfast and enjoyed a massive spread of food. Buffet options abound here, especially if you go late enough to get the brunch switch over which happens at about 11:00 am.
We all piled our plates at breakfast with a variety of eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, pastries, omelets, Mickey waffles, pancakes and French toast sticks.
I always think it’s worth it to order a custom omelet, walk around and fill your plate with other food while it’s being made. Mine below had mushrooms, spinach, green peppers and cheese.
You can also get the infamous cereal flavored milk. I took one sip just to be adventurous but it felt like sipping someone’s leftover cereal milk.
I can’t get past that mental image. Yuck! If you need something else to drink, coffees, sodas, juices and milk are all included.
Don’t forget to top it off with dessert which is offered during brunch hours. And be sure to grab discount Disneyland Resort vacation packages with promo code HAPPIEST10 as you plan your vacation to the Disneyland Resort.
How much did this breakfast cost?
It is $39 for adults and $23 for children (9 and under) plus tax and tip. I loved eating later and getting the brunch options as well.
