Planning a Disneyland group trip is exciting, but coordinating ticket options, payments, hotel rooms and deadlines for dozens—or even hundreds—of travelers can quickly become a full-time job.
I’m Jessica Sanders, a Disneyland author and planning expert who has helped thousands of guests navigate Disneyland Resort vacations since 2013. As a Get Away Today travel partner, I help group leaders compare available ticket and hotel options, stay ahead of important deadlines and create a plan that fits their group.
Whether you are organizing an educational field trip, tournament weekend, performance trip or senior celebration, I can help you move from “Where do we even start?” to stress-free Disneyland days ahead!

Can my School Switch Disneyland Group Vendors?
Yes. Your school is not permanently locked into the same group-travel vendor simply because it has used that company in previous years. However, the authorization process should be completed well before the next registration window opens.
Based on the current process provided to us, Disney requires an authorization from a school administrator’s email address. If the request comes from a non-administrator—such as a teacher, parent or ASB advisor—Disney requires two authorizations. This helps protect schools from unauthorized vendor changes. We can help you get that process started.
Important: Authorization requirements and registration procedures can change. Email me for the current instructions before collecting signatures or submitting forms.
How to Switch Your School’s Group-Travel Vendor
- Reach out early. Contact me before your registration window opens. Starting six weeks in advance is ideal.
- We prepare the paperwork. We’ll help pre-fill the appropriate authorization forms so your school can review, sign and return them.
- Secure every required authorization. If two authorizations are needed, identify a backup administrator in case your primary contact becomes unavailable.
- Complete the change before registration opens. Once the required authorizations are on file and the vendor record is updated, your school will be positioned to register with the new provider.
Why the Vendor-Switching Timeline Matters
Large travel providers may use automated systems to register returning schools as soon as a registration window opens. If your vendor change has not been completed, your school’s registration could be delayed.
The simplest solution is to begin early and confirm the update before the registration window begins. Starting six to eight weeks ahead also creates breathing room for vacations, staff changes or delayed approvals.
School Vendor-Switching FAQs
Can we switch after using the same vendor for several years?
Yes. Using a provider in previous years does not permanently lock your school into that company. The required authorization process must be completed before the new vendor can act on your school’s behalf.
What if our primary school contact is out of the office?
Identify a backup administrator early. This can prevent a vacation, leave or staffing change from delaying required signatures during a limited registration period.
Will our previous vendor contact us?
They may. Properly completed authorizations document the school’s decision and help prevent confusion about which provider is authorized to handle the booking.
Will switching vendors cause us to lose our preferred date?
Disney determines date availability, not the travel vendor. Completing the change before registration opens helps us act when the appropriate booking window begins, but no provider can guarantee availability.
Is there a fee to switch group-travel vendors?
There is no fee from us to change vendors. In fact, there’s no fee for our services in general.
Disneyland Group Travel FAQs
What is the minimum group size for Disneyland group tickets?
Minimums depend on the group type and ticket program. Send your estimated attendance even if your final count is not ready, and we can help determine which options may apply.
How far in advance should we book a Disneyland group trip?
Start as early as possible, especially if your group needs a large hotel block, will travel during a popular school break or must meet a special registration deadline. A planning window of six to eight weeks is recommended for most groups. Grad Nite and other date-specific programs follow separate deadlines.
Are payment plans available for Disneyland groups?
Yes, we can work with you to determine payment deadlines and collecting invidual payments from students and parents. The available schedule may depend on the ticket type, hotel agreement and travel dates.
Can you help our group find a hotel near Disneyland?
Yes. We can help compare hotels based on budget, room configuration, walking distance, bus parking and the needs of students, chaperones, athletes, performers and families. Not every Anaheim hotel is equipped or willing to host every type of group, which makes the right match especially important.
Can travelers extend their stay or book different travel dates?
Customizing trips that work for your group is one of our specialties. Let’s chat about how we can make this happen.
