With nearly 30 different hotel stays under my belt, I’ve experienced a variety of options just steps from the magic. My reviews include stays when I paid the bill. In the rare cases I've partnered with a hotel, you'll see that clearly noted. I'm Jessica Sanders, the writer behind The Happiest Blog on Earth and I have everything you need to choose the perfect place to rest your head. Let’s find your dream Disneyland hotel! How I Review Disneyland Area Hotels
To provide the most accurate and helpful recommendations for your vacation, I follow a standard review process for every property featured on The Happiest Blog on Earth. My goal is to move beyond basic amenities and look at how a hotel actually functions for a Disney-bound family.
My Rating Rubric
Every hotel is evaluated on a 5-point scale across these five categories:
-
Proximity: Actual walking time to the Disneyland pedestrian entrance or the efficiency of provided shuttle services.
-
Family Functionality: The availability of suites, bunk beds, dual vanities, and “room to breathe” for groups of four or more.
-
Value for Money: Comparing the nightly rate and resort fees against the quality of the stay and included perks (like free breakfast).
-
Cleanliness & Service: First-hand assessment of room maintenance and the helpfulness of the staff.
-
The “Disney Factor”: Unique perks like fireworks views, themed decor, or specialized “Water Park” amenities.
Transparency & Ethics
I have personally stayed at or toured nearly 30 hotels in the Anaheim area. While I occasionally partner with brands to bring you the latest updates, my reviews remain 100% objective. I prioritize the reader’s experience above all else. If a hotel has thin walls, slow elevators, or a confusing check-in process, I will always include that information.
