It’s been about a month since Disneyland kicked off the Diamond Celebration with a 24 hour event to remember. The good, the bad, the crazy . . . it was all of that and more. While I wasn’t in the parks to celebrate that day (we went to Hawaii instead :), I’ve combined a few of my favorite stories, articles and posts from the 24 hour event so when the next all-nighter rolls around, you’ll be ready!
More Than 24 Hours of Disneyland
Both Disneyland and California Adventure were open for 24 hours, but for those who planned to be in the park for the fireworks and official 6 am opening, 24 hours began much, much earlier. Pumba parking opened at 10 pm the night before, and were escorted through security at 2 am. In fact, The Orange County Register reported that the first 24 hour hopefuls began lining up at 3 pm on Thursday, May 21st.

24 Hour Play-by-play
One of my favorite posts about the Diamond Celebration 24 hour party is Norberto Briceno’s article that helped him (almost) check off an item from a childhood “bucket list.”

Great round up Jessica, thanks for including me! I was also a huge fan of Norberto's article 🙂 I recently got to see the parade up close and it truly is incredible! Hopefully the next 24 hour party won't be a "perfect storm" like Krista said.
My pleasure Elaina, always a fan of your site!
Thanks for the shout-out for the LadyBugBlog, Jessica! We spent the 24 hour party at DCA — never made it to DL because of what time arrived. It's hard to say if future 24 hour parties will be as crowded as it was this year — 2015's party was "the perfect storm" for crowds with the 60th birthday kick-off, new fireworks show, new night parade, and new World of Color show.
I totally agree, Krista. I think this being the 60th anniversary 24 hour event was a perfect storm. Any up coming 24 events should be less crazy than this, so knowing all the info about a super crazy 24 hours can help people be even better prepared next time around. 🙂
