Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! New Ride
The headliner of Summer of Heroes is no doubt, the new ride uardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! This attraction, formerly Tower of Terror, will feature the same drops as its predecessor, but with a completely new look, feel and sound. Playing during your ride will be a selection of vintage pop songs you already know and love:
- Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar (1980)
- Give Up The Funk by Parliament (1975)
- Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf (1968)
- I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 (1969)
- Free Ride by The Edgar Winters Group (1973)
- Burning Love by Elvis Presley (1972)
Hearing these songs was the first time I actually got excited about riding the new attraction. They really change up the mood of the ride and I can’t wait to drop in!
Speaking of music . . .
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!
The space in Hollywood Land has been used for many a dance offs, including the uber popular Mad T Party during the Diamond Celebration. This summer we’ll bust a move to legendary tracks. Rumor has it Groot could arrive to the dance off fashionably late so “stick†around all night.
Avengers Training Initiative
Similar to Jedi Training over at Disneyland Park, young recruits star in this show along with Black Widow and Hawkeye as Avenger Trainees.
Located at the Showcase Theater in the Hollywood Backlot, young recruits must show they have a brave heart, strong mind and nimble body needed to join the ranks of the Avengers.
Just like Jedi Training, you must sign up to participate. Visit the kiosk near Stage 17 and the Sunset Showcase Theater along with your recruits to sign up first thing in the morning. Sign ups are also open during Extra Magic Hour.
Super Hero Comic Academy
A revamp to Animation Academy as Summer of Heroes takes over Hollywood Land. You can learn to draw some of your favorite Marvel super heroes. As we prep for Marvel animation, see what Animation Academy is all about in this video.
Summer of Heroes Menu
When Disneyland debuted “Season of the Force”, Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland Park was completely re-done to present Galactic Grill featuring food from a galaxy far, far away. We expect a similar makeover to one of the existing quick eat options in Hollywood Land.
Update: Food options are here! Check out all the amazing selections and where to get them.
Disneyland Summer of Heroes is set to wrap up early September. Will you be there?
