I’ve been several times to various character meals with my kids and even just with friends. I enjoy them that much! At first, I struggled with the price point. I didn’t want to pay for all of us to dine with characters we regularly meet in the parks. Especially now that characters are even easier to find with the Disneyland App and random sightings around the parks.

But let me tell you, I have had so many incredible experiences character dining at Disneyland Resort, that I have gone multiple times on my own dime.

It is that coveted one-on-one time with Disney characters I enjoy the most— otherwise you would just dine anywhere at the Disneyland Resort.

Goofy’s Kitchen Dining Characters

Since you’re here to meet all the Disney characters possible, we list out the possible Disney characters you might see at Goofy’s Kitchen. While the line-up can and does change, Chef Goofy is a guaranteed meet and greet.

When you come for breakfast, you will meet Chef goofy right when you walk in. If you’re coming for dinner you will might meet Chef Mickey right when you come in, but we haven’t seen him around in a while.

Before getting set up at your table, your group will meet the main man (either Goofy or Mickey) in front of a very wacky kitchen backdrop. Hand your camera to the PhotoPass photographer and they’ll snap a few photos.

Goofy’s Kitchen Character Dining Menu

I have dined for breakfast and dinner and found the spread to be absolutely amazing for the sophisticated palate and a down home meal especially for kids. There was such a variety of food, including a carving station—I could have stayed there all night.

Whenever I eat dinner at a sit down restaurant in Disneyland I usually try the salmon or fresh catch of the day. The fish is always a stand out. Plus add in the soft serve ice cream and massive dessert bar (even available at breakfast), and you have a winning combination.

I always enjoy a made-to-order omelet with Mickey waffles , French toast sticks and a fountain drink.

You’ll also find a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, yogurt and more. You will find ample juice selections, sodas, coffee and hot cocoa. Don’t forget about the famous peanut butter and jelly pizza!

There’s something for everyone on this buffet menu! I went through quite a few times just trying to decide. Luckily, you can sample a bit of everything.

I even made a dessert plate from just a few things at the dessert station. Yes, bring your appetite for food and amazing character interactions! Don’t forget to grab discount Disneyland tickets as you plan your vacation to the Disneyland Resort.

Hi there, I was wondering if they have walk in availability at Goofy’s diner for Christmas or around Christmas Day? Thank you

    • Hi Colleen, They might be able to accommodate walk ins on other days, but I would not plan on that being an option during around Christmas Day. That week is very busy and I would hate for you to plan a walk up and it not work out.

Weird question – But do you pay before getting to your table? (Like Plaza Inn) or is a bill brought after your meal? We have a large group with multiple families that will want to split the bill so I’m trying to figure out logistics.

  • Steve Clark

I hadn’t heard that Mickey was showing up at Goofy’s Kitchen. -and doing the pre photo op in the evening. Is this new? Is it because chef goofy is at the Food and wine festival? Just curious – We will be there for dinner in two weeks for the first time! I’m excited

I’m trying to decide which option is more optimal…dinner or breakfast…I have reservations for both and want to make the best choice…

    • If you can do one on an arrival or departure day I’d go with that option. Otherwise, whichever one you think you’ll enjoy more of the food. I know some people have a hard time enjoying all the breakfast offerings if they’re not quite hungry yet.

We have breakfast reservations at Goofy’s just a few days from now! Wondering how you would recommend we get back to the park entrance as we’d like to head straight to the park when we’re finished. Can we just walk thru downtown Disney to get there? 1st time and so excited!!
