Rainforest Cafe Disneyland at Downtown Disney dubs itself as a wild place to shop and eat. After a family lunch during a day at Downtown Disney, I want to fill you in on this tropical paradise. CLOSED 6/22/18
Rainforest Cafe Disneyland: Basics
CLOSED 6/22/18 Rainforest Cafe Disneyland is a table service restaurant located in Anaheim at the Downtown Disney District, closer to the Disneyland Hotel side.
It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can make reservations and get pricing via the Disneyland app. What’s odd is they don’t accept reservations by calling in and no prices are listed on their website, just through the Disneyland app. We ordered 2 kid meals and 2 adult meals with water to drink and our lunch bill was over $100. Yikes!
Rainforest Cafe Disneyland: Atmosphere
The thing that pulled us into Rainforest Cafe were the looks. The building itself is spectacular to look at. My kids have been asking to eat there, so we decided to try it out.
We were all in awe of our surroundings.
The atmosphere inside definitely matches what you see outside. A tropical forest filled with giant tanks of salt water fish surround you in this very unique dining setting.
We were seated right in front of one of their large fish tanks which totally captivated the kids and allowed us some adult conversation.
Rainforest Cafe is a great place to go for a special celebration or birthday. Because of the cost, it won’t be on my go-to list like many of these 10 Meals for $10 are, but it was a very fun lunch while it lasted and I highly recommend bringing the whole family.
Rainforest Cafe Disneyland: Menu
Like I mentioned, we ordered 2 kids meals and 2 adult meals with no drinks and our bill was about $100. That is not what I am used to spending at dinner, let alone lunch (although Disneyland’s Club 33 is a different story). I usually study menus before going to a new place, but since their website doesn’t list prices, we didn’t know exactly what to expect. I’ve since learned you can check prices on the Disneyland app thanks to one of our readers for the tip!
We have 3 kids and 2 adults in our family but each Rainforest Cafe kid meal comes with one main dish and a side. My mac and cheese loving girl wanted just that, so we were able to order that as a side to another kid meal which helped us save a little.
Our older kids went for pizza and sliders. Easy peasy.
Their menu is full of seafood, burgers and sandwiches. I had the Turkey Club.I thought my sandwich was decent and I was able to save half of it for the next day.
My husband ordered the Ribs, Steak and Shrimp Trio. Sure, that added to our bill, but I figured, we’re already here we might as well go for it!
Rainforest Cafe Disneyland: Shopping
Rainforest Cafe Disneyland has a huge retail space that makes the experience complete. I was surprised to see many affordable souvenir options and the kids had fun looking around.
Colorful post card prints make a great souvenir and you can even frame them and hang them up once you get home from your Disneyland vacation.
My kids couldn’t get enough of this “creepy” talking tree.
Too many cute creatures to choose from! I’ll take those two cuties front and center.
