Celebrate Happy at Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Party beginning May 16, 2025 through the Summer of 2026. July 17, 2025 is Disneyland’s actual 70th anniversary.
You may remember the Diamond Celebration for Disneyland’s 60th that lasted more than full year—or maybe the most recent 100 year celebration of the Walt Disney Company in 2023.
One thing we know for sure—Disneyland knows how to celebrate big birthdays, milestones and everything in between. I bet you’ve celebrated plenty of your own occasions at Disney over the years too. In 2025, Disneyland welcomes you back to The Happiest Place on Earth to “celebrate happy” with beloved entertainment, new attractions and so much more.
Celebrate Happy Daytime Events
From Rope Drop to Park Close, Disneyland Resort has something happening in every corner of the resort for the 70th celebration. We all know rides are a big part of the adventure, but be sure to schedule time in your day for some incredible entertainment and events.
Since I’ve been writing this website (beginning in 2013) I have been at Disneyland for the debut of many major events and openings and the kick off of the 70th is no exception. I’ll be there for this too! Be sure to let me know if I should keep an eye out for you as well.
Disneyland Park’s Daytime Events
- The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade! Daily at 1:30 pm and 2:45 pm, check the Disneyland app for adjustments and exact times. A new Character Cavalcade with short appearances by beloved Disney characters along the parade route featuring a fresh, upbeat theme song recorded by the Jonas Brothers “Celebrate Happy.” You’ll see Mickey and friends of course, but you’ll also get to see Max and even Duffy and ShellieMay who rarely make appearances at Disneyland! - Walt Disney – A Magical Life will debut on Disneyland’s actual birthday July 17th as part of the 70th celebration at the Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A.
- “it’s a small world” new characters can be spotted in Mexico! Miguel and Dante from the Pixar film Coco will join the beloved classic attraction April 25, 2025.
- “it’s a small world” 4th verse will debut on the attraction and in a short film in the Main Street Cinema on Disneyland’s actual birthday July 17th.
California Adventure’s Daytime Events
- Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade. A new favorite that first debuted during Pixar Fest in 2024 is back. The daytime parade features plenty of Pixar Pals and toe-tapping music. Find more details about parade viewing and dining packages here.
- During Halloween Time and Holidays at Disney California Adventure, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration Parade will pause for Oogie Boogie Bash offerings and Festival of the Holidays events.
Disneyland 70th Nighttime Events
There’s a reason this celebration will go on into 2026, because there is so much to do and see. When you visit, make sure you plan for at least 2 nights to enjoy celebrations that only happen after dark.
Disneyland Park’s Nighttime Events
- Paint the Night Parade. We last saw Paint the Night in 2018 and no one has stopped talking about its potential return since then. Now we can celebrate the return of this iconic Disneyland parade by watching at Disneyland during the 70th. Find more details about Paint the Night Parade and dining packages here.
- Tapestry of Happiness an all new projection show dazzles on the facade of “it’s a small world” each evening at Disneyland. This animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories brought to life in a unique style inspired by the work of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair. Featuring the 70th celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy,” recorded by the Jonas Brothers. It’s sure to bring joy to your night as well!
- Wondrous Journeys. This quickly became a fan favorite during Disney100 and will dazzle once again over Disneyland Park, enhanced with fireworks on select nights. Find more details about Wondrous Journeys viewing and dining packages here.
- During Halloween Time and Holidays at Disneyland Park, Wondrous Journeys will pause for Halloween Screams and Believe in Holiday Magic.
California Adventure’s Nighttime Events
- Lightning of Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street. Each evening, Carthay Circle Restaurant will invite everyone to “celebrate happy” during a special moment filled with lights, music and projection effects.
- The Muppets share a pre-show message before World of Color each night!
- World of Color Happiness! Inspired by Walt Disney’s oft quoted opening day dedication, “To all who come to this happy place, Welcome.” Find more details about World of Color viewing and dining packages here.
