Kids are picky when it comes to food. They want what they know. Sometimes that’s chicken nuggets. Sometimes it’s just fries. And in the middle of a magical, overstimulating Disneyland day, a meltdown over lunch can happen fast.
That’s exactly what happened when I was walking through Frontierland and a frantic mom stopped me, “Where did you get those fries?” she asked. “All my son wants is fries, and I can’t find them anywhere!”
That moment stuck with me. Because when you’re in the parks, it’s not just about the rides—it’s about having answers to questions like:
- Where can I get chicken nuggets at Disneyland?
- Do they sell fries with kids meals?
- What if my kid only eats fruit or mac and cheese?
This guide breaks down the top Disneyland kids meals, not just for toddlers, but for any little eater (or adult who loves a classic!) in your group. These aren’t just the healthiest or most Instagram worthy foodie finds.
This article was originally published in 2019. It is updated regularly with comprehensive tips for your visit.
These are the meals real parents need, at a quick service pace! All options are available at fast food style dining where no reservations are needed and most accept mobile order from the Disneyland app.

Final Tips
Can adults order off the kids menu?
At quick service dining, adults can always order off the kids menu. When doing sit down restaurant like at Blue Bayou, it depends on your Cast Member wait staff. Sometimes you just want the smaller portion and I personally do not think that should be an issue.
I’ve never had a problem ordering off the kids menu at a sit down restaurant but if I ever receive push back, I always offer to pay the full adult menu price for the actual kid entree I want.
Can adults pay the kids price at a character meal if they’re not eating that much?
Most character meals are buffet style, all you care to eat. For this reason, there are strict age limits and pricing to match. Kids prices are for children ages 3-9. Anyone 10 and up will pay the adult price at character dining.
Remember, if you’re not seeing what your kids will eat in this list there are plenty of other dining options and menus listed on the Disneyland App.
- Use the search function on the app to type in specific food items to help you narrow down a location near you.
- Order food in advance, mobile order is quick and easy and can help eliminate hunger melt downs.
Splitting meals can help save money. Here’s a few other ways you can save cash on your trip:
- Pack easy snacks for your kids to bring along.
- Bring ziploc bags for any leftovers that can be enjoyed later like many of the kids meals sides.
- Purchase discount Disneyland tickets before your trip.
And of course leave a comment on your kids favorite items they enjoyed at Disneyland Resort!

Thanks for these tips! I know you’ve mentioned elsewhere that some kids’ meals offer a veggie burger option—that would be a great addition to this article. Also, as I recall from my last visit, some of the stands sell cut-up veggies and hummus cups, which make for a very reasonable kid lunch on the go!
Thank you I am taking my son for his birthday gift in September 2019 and he has autism and I so glad they have chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese and French fries in the park now we don’t have to worry about food and just worry about having fun. Thank you?
That’s wonderful to hear! Another tip for you: on the Disneyland App, they’ve added tons of food photos under “order food” and/or “dining” so it might even be helpful to show him the food picture to see if it looks like the type he expects 🙂
Why don’t some of the menus show these simple kids items?
I have a child who will only eat certain things and these are some but i don’t want to make reservations if menus have changed.
example nuggets at carnation
Thank you for pointing that out. Menus do change frequently and I must have missed that one being removed or modified. Certainly check the menu closer to your vacation date to verify. If all else fails, you could always do a quick service order from somewhere nearby your reservation and bring it over for your little one.
Sad to see all junk food.
Michelle, you’re right. This article is more about the comfort foods kids request often. I put this together because it’s actually a little trickier than one would think to find these things at Disneyland Resort. If you’re looking for more of a healthier fare for your kids dining at Disneyland, I suggest my Healthy Food Guide here.
What? Thank you for doing this leg work and sharing it with us newbies!!
Haha, no problem! I need my nuggets and fries too every once in a while (when I’m not having a corn dog of course).
I love this list! So helpful!
Thank you Sonja! I’ll be adding a printable version next week so check back if that interests you.
Thank you so much for your insight! I feel like every time we go to disneyland we are just winging it on food. We never know where to go or anything! I’m so grateful for your post.
You’re welcome Kaylee. There’s really so many options and I know exactly where you’re coming from. I used to wing the food too back in the day but I’ve found I eat way better when I check out menus and plan in advance. This is top notch reporting! So great for parents! Thanks for doing the research!
You’re making me hungry!
I’d eat these items too! 🙂 Not just for kids.
