Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center is the official name of what I simply call, Homewood Suites Disneyland, or Homewood Suites Anaheim.

A couple things to know upfront:

  • This review covers the ONLY Homewood Suites in Anaheim.
  • The OTHER Homewood Suites is in Garden Grove; it’s official name is Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim-Main Gate Area but it is NOT in Anaheim.
  • Homewood Suites operates under the Hilton brand, so it’s an easy option when you’re looking for familiarity and of course if you’re a loyal Hilton Honors member.

Quick Info

Homewood Suites Anaheim is a moderately priced hotel, about a 20 minute walk to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure’s main gates or easily hop on the Toy Story shuttle for a free ride—it’s right next door!

Disneyland Homewood Suites Hilton

This Homewood Suites is located at 2010 South Harbor Blvd in Anaheim, California. Again, this is the closer option and different from Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim-Main Gate Area in Garden Grove.

  • Homewood Suites Disneyland check-in time: 4:00 pm
  • Homewood Suites Disneyland check-out time: 11:00 am
  • Free Breakfast daily

If you’re using the Hilton app to check in, I recommend NOT choosing a room because you could be assigned another room and be able to check in earlier if available. I made the mistake of choosing a room and we ended up waiting beyond check in time for it to be ready.

When I mentioned to the front desk that any room (similar type and status) would work, we were in a room right away.

Location

I’ve stayed in nearly 30 Disneyland area hotels, and sometimes get spoiled by proximity. I prefer the Harbor Blvd. area hotels as more of a hub of hotels since it has so many choices and is super close to the pedestrian crosswalk into Disneyland.

However, I chose this hotel specifically because I wanted a hotel as close to the Toy Story parking lot as possible. It proved to be a game-changer for our stay.

When checking in, the front desk will also gladly explain how to get to Downtown Disney from the hotel which is the easiest route to the theme parks. Once inside, you’ll feel immediately immersed in the Disney bubble and can take the monorail into Disneyland Park or continue walking to the main gates.

This Homewood Suites is about a 20 minute walk to Disneyland Resort’s main gates, but truly save your feet and use the Toy Story parking lot shuttles instead. It’s free and you can walk right in via the pedestrian entrance.

The nearest airpot is John Wayne Airport (SNA) or Long Beach (LBG) is also an option, both about 30 minutes or less, depending on traffic.

Read more about the nearest Disneyland airports here. In addition to the close proximity to Disneyland, other popular points of interest include The Anaheim Convention Center, The Honda Center, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Knott’s Berry Farm and more.

Is this hotel walkable?

Yes, Homewood Suites Anaheim  is about a 30 minute walk to Disneyland or a quick drive over via Toy Story Shuttle.

Here’s the best ways to get to Disneyland from Homewood Suites:

  1. Walk.  It’s about a 20 minute walk to Disneyland. Head right out of your hotel and north on Harbor Blvd. You’ll then continue until you reach Disney property on the left.
  2. Free Shuttle at Toy Story Lot. Since the Toy Story parking is right next door, you can get there quickly and hop on the shuttle to the main entrance.
  3. Uber it! If you have someone with mobility issues, you might consider paying a few dollars for an Uber. It’ll likely take you longer than walking, but could be worth delaying any discomfort.

Guest Rooms

Homewood Suites Disneyland  has some really great basic rooms, meaning the simplest room type offers plenty for your comfort and needs. There are several room types, including the one we stayed in—a 2 Queen, Sofa Bed One Bedroom Queen/Queen Suite.

Broken down in regular people talk that means our room had a living room with a sofa bed and a full kitchen when we first walked in. Then there’s a separate bedroom space with two queen beds, a vanity space and bathroom.

We also had the standards included in Hilton stays like towels, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner and soap.

  • 1 King Bed, Sofa Bed One Bedroom King Suite
  • 2 Queen, Sofa Bed One Bedroom (as pictured above)
  • 1 King, Sofa Bed, Bunk Bed Family Suites (the bunk bed and king are separated by a half wall)

Breakfast and Bonuses

Each morning, you’ll be greeted by a full, hot breakfast buffet filled with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, juices, coffee, cold cereal, pastries and more. They even host evening receptions on select nights with light bites and drinks.

Homewood Suites Disneyland pool

I love the outdoor space here at Homewood Suites by Disneyland. It has an expansive space for lounging by the outdoor pool area, a separate play spot with a basketball hoop and a putting green.

Near the pool you’ll also find a game room, fitness center and more. Let me tell you, my son will be begging to stay here next time I bring him along!

I read your review on home2suites Anaheim as well from a couple years ago. For a family of 5 (kids 14, 11, and 5) would you recommend Homewood or Home2suites?

    • Thank you for reading more of my reviews as you plan your next Disneyland trip, I truly appreciate it. I do really like the space set up at Homewood, with the door that separates the living room. It feels more like an apartment Both hotels are so nice, with similar amenities (pool, breakfast). I think I would first consider if you are ok with doing the Toy Story shuttle instead of walking to the parks. Then I’d also look at the price point. But my guess is they’re coming up pretty close, making the decision harder. I think the layout of the rooms are better at Homewood. Location for both are great. Breakfast options similar. If I had to choose today with those ages, and imagining the price is the same I would likely do Homewood. It’s a very tough decision though!
