8 Disneyland Hotels with Bunk Beds for Families

Planning a trip to Disneyland and need a hotel with bunk beds? As your family grows, you’re probably a lot like mine, trying to maximize space, keep everyone happy, and fit a larger groups into a single hotel room.

Finding a hotel room with bunk beds is possible, so let’s lay out the details from someone who has stayed in a lot of Disneyland-area hotels. In many cases, booking a bunk bed suite isn’t just about fun for the kids, it’s the most cost-effective way to avoid booking two separate hotel rooms.

Bunk Bed Hotels at Disneyland

Hotels with Bunk Beds

The hotel scene near Disneyland continues to evolve as property renovations add family-focused sleeping layouts. Bunk bed rooms are among the most highly sought-after options in Anaheim, with some booking out months in advance and others being a staple at select properties.

In this guide, I’ll break down:

  • Which Disneyland hotels offer bunk beds and family suite layouts.
  • Walking distance bunk bed hotels and ride share / shuttle options.
  • The best bunk bed hotels for large families needing extra sleeping space.

As a parent myself, I know it’s important to get room layouts right to ensure everyone gets a good night’s sleep. It could mean all the difference between before Rope Drop at Disneyland.

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance & Waterpark Resort

Staying directly across the street from Disneyland while enjoying bunk beds is the ultimate combination for convenience and comfort.

Anaheim Courtyard Hotel

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance & Waterpark Resort is an absolute favorite for families, but it’s also the most expensive of all the bunk bed hotels.

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance bunk beds

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance features spacious bunk bed suites with two showers in every room, perfect for getting ready fast in the morning.

courtyard pool water park

And of course, you can’t miss the awesome Surfside Waterpark on-site. The area full of splash zones, water slides and tons of water play. The actual swimming pool is small, but there is a large hot tub. Essentially, you’re swapping a large swimming pool with a water park play ground.

Every room comes with twin over twin bunk beds here are full-sized, sturdy, and built into family suites that sleep up to 6 guests with two additional queen beds. There’s a nice seating nook here as well.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park / Convention Area

**Note** this hotel has changed names a few times in the last few years, you might know it as Cambria (2020-2024), Anaheim Suites Hotel (2024-2026) and now SpringHill Suites (a Marriott property).

Pool Areas SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park / Convention Area is ideal for large groups who want to stay under one roof but may need different hotel accommodations. A variety of room types means Grandma and Grandpa can book their own king room. while the family with lots of kids can book a room that sleeps up to 8 people!

King bed SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park

I love that the family sleeping quarters offer a king bed and then a nearby bunk bed set for the kids as on configuration. It’s nice to not have to squeeze into a queen when you’re used to a king bed at home.

Bunk Beds SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park

The bunk beds here also have a trundle, making for one room that sleeps 5 people easily. There’s a bathroom with two showers attached as well. You can book this same room type with 2 queens to maximize sleep space.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park 2 shower rooms

What’s more is many room types have a kitchen and living room, making for a more home-like space even while traveling.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park kitchenette

This SpringHill Suites also offers daily free breakfast and a massive outdoor water park and play area with a basketball hoop, putting green and tons of dining in the same parking lot as the hotel.

SpringHill Suites free breakfast

The only downside? You’ll need to drive or ride share to the parks from this hotel. It is not a walkable location. Some people do walk it, but I don’t consider it doable both directions after a long day. Save your feet and Uber, but save some money too by booking this property for a bunk bed room near Disneyland.

Keep Your SpringHill hotels straight: There is another SpringHill Suites nearby.

SpringHill Suites Maingate also has bunk beds, I haven’t stayed there—only toured it. They do have a bunk room but not the water park. Here’s one photo I have inside the room.

Element by Westin Anaheim Resort Convention Center

Element by Westin is one of my favorite bunk bed hotels near Disneyland for larger families because you get tons of sleeping space without giving up a kitchen, free breakfast or the ability to walk to the parks.

Element outdoor area

The Element by Westin Anaheim Resort Convention Center is a newer Marriott property located about a 15-minute walk from Disneyland. I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s one I recommend over and over again, especially for families of 5 or more.

The bunk bed suites are where Element really stands out. You can book a family suite with two queen beds, a sofa bed and bunk beds that sleeps up to 8 guests. There’s also a king bed option with a sofa bed and bunk beds that sleeps up to 6. I love having the king bed option because sometimes parents don’t want to give up the bed size they’re used to at home just to get a family-friendly room.Element Convention Bunk beds

Another thing I really like about these rooms is the separation between sleeping spaces. A partition wall or door separates the main beds from the sofa bed and bunk bed area, and the bunk beds have their own lights and outlets. It’s a great setup when you’re traveling with older kids or when the kids need to go to sleep before the adults.

Element Anaheim Kitchen

And these aren’t just places to sleep. The family suites have a full kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and freezer, giving you plenty of space for Disneyland snacks, groceries and easy meals.

Element Queen room

Even better, you might not need that kitchen for breakfast because Element serves a complimentary hot breakfast buffet every morning. I’ve stayed here several times and the breakfast is one of the reasons this hotel continues to rank so high on my list. There’s a good variety including eggs, waffles, pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, drinks and more.

Element buffet anaheim

The hotel also has an outdoor heated saline pool, BBQ areas and other amenities, but I think the biggest selling point is simply the combination of space, price and location. You’re a little farther from Disneyland than the Harbor Boulevard hotels directly across the street, but I consider the roughly 15-minute walk completely doable.

Jessica Element Hotel

For a large family looking for bunk beds near Disneyland, Element is one of my top picks for overall value. You can sleep up to 8, make meals in your room, eat free breakfast and still walk to Disneyland.

Element TV small kitchen

Book Element by Westin Anaheim Resort Convention Center located at 1600 S. Clementine Street, Anaheim, CA 92802 or read my in-depth Element by Westin review with more room photos and hotel details here.

The VIV Hotel Anaheim

If you want bunk beds for the kids but still want your hotel to feel a little more upscale, The VIV Hotel Anaheim is a great option.

The VIV rooftop bar

The VIV Hotel Anaheim is a newer Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel with modern rooms, two pool areas, on-site dining and some pretty incredible views. I was among the first to tour this hotel when it originally opened as Radisson Blu, and it definitely stands out from your typical family hotel near Disneyland.

The VIV living room suite

Families have two great bunk bed options here. The 2 Queen and Bunk Bed room has two queen beds plus a twin-over-twin bunk bed, sleeping up to 6 guests. There’s also a King and Bunk Bed room with one king bed and twin-over-twin bunks.

The VIV bunk bed room

The VIV also has some fun extras you don’t find at every bunk bed hotel. There’s a family-friendly outdoor pool and hot tub, plus a rooftop adults-only pool during select hours. Head up to the 12th floor and you’ll also find Top of the V, a rooftop restaurant with views toward Disneyland in one direction and Angel Stadium in the other.

The VIV pool

The biggest downside here is location. I don’t consider The VIV walkable to Disneyland. It’s about a 35-minute walk and the route isn’t one I’d recommend, especially with kids after a long park day. Plan on using Uber or Lyft, or driving to Disneyland instead.

The VIV adult pool

But if walking distance isn’t a must-have, The VIV gives families something a little different: bunk beds and plenty of sleeping space combined with a newer, more upscale hotel experience.

Book The VIV Hotel Anaheim located at 1601 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92805 or read my in-depth review with room photos and a complete hotel tour here.

Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center is one of the best bunk bed hotels near Disneyland if you want more separation between kids and adults.

residence inn disneyland

I’ve stayed at Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center multiple times, including with my own family, and the amount of space here is a huge perk. Most rooms sleep up to 6 guests.

Kids room Residence inn

For bunk beds, look for the Two Bedroom Family Suite. You’ll get two queen beds in one bedroom plus a separate little room with bunk beds and a door. The kids’ room even connects to its own kid-themed bathroom.

residence inn family suite anaheim

There’s also a sofa bed in the main living area, giving everyone plenty of room to spread out. I especially like this setup for families with older kids who appreciate having a little more privacy—or parents who don’t necessarily want to go to bed at the same time as their kids.residence inn disneyland view

Another major perk is the full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and freezer, stove, dishwasher and microwave. We’ve used the kitchen during our own stays to keep food in the room, make quick meals and save some money during a Disneyland trip.

Residence Inn Anaheim kitchen hotel

But you don’t have to cook breakfast! Residence Inn includes a free hot breakfast every morning with options like eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat, cereal, yogurt, pastries and more. My kids especially enjoyed making Mickey waffles during our stays.

residence inn anaheim free breakfast

There’s also a rooftop pool, hot tub and splash pad, giving families somewhere to relax away from the parks.

Residence Inn Anaheim pool

And yes, I consider Residence Inn walkable to Disneyland. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the main gates. It’s not quite as effortless as staying directly across the street on Harbor Boulevard, so I especially recommend it for families with kids who are good walkers or those using a stroller.Residence Inn Anaheim Convention Center

Desert Palms Hotel & Suites

Desert Palms Hotel & Suites is a great option for families who want bunk beds, a little separation from the kids and a walkable location without paying the prices of some of the hotels directly across from Disneyland.

Desert Palms Exterior

I’ve toured Desert Palms Hotel & Suites a couple of times over the years, and one of the things that stands out is the variety of family-size rooms at value prices.

Desert Palms guest room queens

For bunk beds, look for the 1 King, Bunk Bed 1 Bedroom Suite, which sleeps up to 6 guests. Parents get a king bed while the kids have their own bunk bed area, with a sliding door separating the two sleeping spaces.

Desert Palms Family Suite looking into kids room

I really like this configuration because you don’t have to give up a king bed to get bunk beds for the kids—and that sliding door is a nice bonus when everyone isn’t going to sleep at the same time.

Desert Palms bunk bed suite

The suite also includes a microwave and refrigerator, making it easy to keep snacks, drinks and simple meals in the room.

Another big money saver here is free breakfast. When you’re already getting a family suite at a value price, being able to feed everyone before heading to Disneyland makes Desert Palms an especially appealing option for families watching their vacation budget.DesertPalmsPool

There’s also an outdoor pool and hot tub for an afternoon break from the parks. I consider it walkable at about 10–12 minutes to Disneyland’s main gates. Head toward Harbor Boulevard and then north toward the pedestrian entrance.

Desert Palms family room

Desert Palms isn’t about flashy amenities or a huge water park. It’s the combination that makes it stand out: bunk beds, a separate sleeping space, a king bed for the parents, free breakfast, walking distance and value pricing.

Book Desert Palms Hotel & Suites located at 1631 W. Katella Ave., Anaheim, CA 92802 or read my in-depth Desert Palms review with videos of the different family suites here.

Portofino Inn & Suites

Portofino Inn & Suites is another affordable bunk bed hotel near Disneyland, but the room configuration is what really makes this a solid choice for families.

Portofino Disneyland Hotel

At Portofino Inn & Suites, you’ll want to book the Disneyland Kids Suite. Parents get their own room with a king bed and bathroom, while the kids have a separate sleeping space with twin-over-twin bunk beds and a pull-out bed.

Sliding French doors with curtains separate the two sleeping areas. I love having an actual door between parents and kids because you don’t necessarily want everyone going to bed at the same time on vacation. Both spaces even have their own TVs.

Portofino Bunk Beds

One thing to know is that the mini fridge and microwave are located in the kids’ portion of the suite. Keep that in mind if you’re traveling with little ones who might be tempted to get into everything!

Portofino Bunk Room

Portofino doesn’t offer free breakfast, but you’re close to CVS at the corner of Harbor and Katella where you can pick up easy breakfast foods, snacks and drinks to keep in your room.

There’s also a heated outdoor pool, but it’s very small. This hotel is much more about getting an affordable family suite with extra sleeping space close to Disneyland.

Portofino room Disneyland

Del Sol Inn Anaheim Resort

If your priority is finding bunk beds as close to Disneyland as possible, Del Sol Inn Anaheim Resort puts you just steps from the parks.

Del Sol Anaheim

Del Sol Inn Anaheim Resort is located directly across the street from Disneyland on Harbor Boulevard. This isn’t a fancy resort with tons of amenities, but you’re paying for one of the best locations you can get near Disneyland (with bunk beds).

Families looking for bunk beds will want to book the Kids Room, which has two queen beds plus twin bunk beds and can sleep up to 6 people. The bunk beds are tucked into their own little alcove, giving kids a space that feels separate from the main sleeping area.

Del Sol bunkbed

That’s one of my favorite things about this room configuration. Everyone gets a real bed without needing to unfold a sofa bed at the end of a long Disneyland day.

Del Sol Disney

Rooms also include convenient basics like a mini refrigerator and microwave, which come in handy for storing drinks, snacks and quick meals during your Disneyland vacation.Del Sol Pool

There’s a small outdoor pool and hot tub at Del Sol, but this isn’t a hotel I’d choose for a resort day. The real reason to stay here is the location. You can walk out of your room, head across Harbor Boulevard and be at the Disneyland pedestrian entrance in just a few minutes.Del Sol bathroom

Del Sol is especially worth comparing if you want bunk beds and walking distance but don’t need the water park and extra amenities you’ll find at some of the more expensive hotels on this list.

Book Del Sol Inn Anaheim Resort located at 1604 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92802 or read my in-depth Del Sol Inn review with room photos and more details here.
