Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney: Atmosphere
Ralph Brennan’s family has been in the hospitality business since 1943 when they opened their doors on Bourbon Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter. To bring an authentic French Quarter feel to Disneyland Resort, a dozen Lousiana-based artists came together to create original art you can only find here at Anaheim’s Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen.
“Food and music- served up in a whimsical setting depicting the charm, ambience and hospitality of historic and contemporary New Orleans.”
This two story Downtown Disney restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, along with a beautiful open air atrium. Enjoy live jazz music Sunday through Thursday from 6-10 pm, & Fridays and Saturdays from 7-11 pm. And don’t miss the live music at Sunday brunch from 10:30-2:30 each Sunday inside Jazz Kitchen.
Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney: Menu
As promised, we have our must eat list from Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney. It’s just one of the many highlights when dining at Jazz Kitchen.
The menu here is super diverse, so even if you’re not into gumbo or jambalaya, you’ll still find something to enjoy.
We started our visit with garlic cheese bread and coconut crusted shrimp. We even got our non-adventurous little eaters to try the shrimp!
I have dined here in the past during a marketing meeting with The Anaheim Hotel (if you haven’t checked out their rooms, see my tour here) for lunch. I ordered Greek Goddess Salad pictured below.
Salads are a great choice for a lighter fare at Disneyland. It comes with crispy romaine lettuce, applewood smoked bacon, Granny Smith apples, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and green goddess dressing (add chicken or shrimp if desired).
Also served during our lunch is a seasonal crispy chicken wrap paired with Cajun fries that are irresistible! I may have taken one or two from my colleagues plate when he wasn’t looking.
You’ll also have the chance to experience authentic Jambalaya just the way they make it on the Gulf Coast. Pasta jambalaya is full of shrimp, andouille sausage, roasted chicken, Creole seasoning, accompanied by spinach fettuccine. It was spicy and delicious!
Next up for dinner is the black and blue steak. I am not a steak eater, but even I wished I ordered this!
My husband got this and I stole a bite or two. Delicious! Our waiter said it was his favorite entree and you better believe I am ordering this (and keeping it all to myself) next time I go.
Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney: Kid Menu
Brining little ones with you to Jazz Kitchen for lunch or dinner? There’s plenty to try from the kids menu at Jazz Kitchen.
Kids will like the classic staples like chicken tenders grilled cheese, cheeseburgers and more.
Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney: Drinks
Downtown Disney’s Jazz kitchen has a full bar and drink menu. They even have non-alcoholic and specialty drinks for kids and adults like me :).
My kids enjoyed Shirley Temples and Bubble Gum soda. I pretty much always order a virgin mojito if it’s on the menu.
Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney: Desserts
Not just beignets, I mean of course you want to order some but will get to that later.
We order double chocolate bread pudding which takes about 30 minutes prepare so be sure to tell your server before you’re ready to have it delivered to table. And case you don’t, it’s worth waiting for.
I also couldn’t resist ordering peach cobbler and it was a dream! I’d order this again in a hot second.
Now that your stomach is growling and your mouth is watering, make your reservations and then try out some of these Jazz Kitchen recipes at home in the mean time. And keep reading for more Jazz Kitchen food and time saving tips.
