There are currently 3 dining experiences available at Disneyland Resort that I consider to be fine dining:
- Blue Bayou in Disneyland Park (that’s the one we’re reviewing here)
- Carthay Circle in California Adventure Park
- Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa
- Coming soon to Downtown Disney District – Paseo
I’ve dined at each of these restaurants several times over, with the exception of Paseo since it’s currently under construction. Having a special sit down meal with friends and family is often a highlight of my visits to Disneyland Resort. Keep reading for further details on what to expect at your meal inside Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland’s Blue Bayou.
Note: If you’ve been to Walt Disney World, most people compare Blue Bayou to The San Angel Inn at EPCOT where a similar style boat ride goes right through the restaurant.
Blue Bayou Reservations
The best way to guarantee you’ll get to eat at Blue Bayou is to secure dining reservations. You can set dining alerts and make your Blue Bayou dining reservation here.
Usually they do not accept walk up reservations, but you can check the Disneyland App on the day of your visit to see if you can be added to the walk-up list. The best way to get added to the waitlist is by searching “Blue Bayou” on the app and being close to the physical location. If there’s space, you’ll be able to put your information down right on the app.

Where is Blue Bayou at Disneyland located?
Blue Bayou is located inside Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland theme park, but you’ll enter from the restaurants entrance in New Orleans Square. Walk past the Pirates ride entrance and head to your left, you’ll find the restaurant off to your left with a small “Blue Bayou” sign.
All tables are indoors but you get the feeling of being on an outside patio dining under the night sky. Tables by the water are the most popular and can be requested with a Cast Member during check in, but it’s not always possible.
Tables are 3-4 rows deep and each one has a view of the water while only a few have the coveted waterside table. Larger parties are almost always seated toward the back.
Blue Bayou Disneyland Menu
The menu at Blue Bayou changes seasonally but there are several go-to options that many people love and look forward to for every visit. Here are a few quick facts about the Blue Bayou menu as we get started exploring the food:
- Lunch and Dinner menu items are the same offering and same prices.
- Cajun-Creole menu and American favorites with a bit of a kick.
- Entrees start at about $30 for for adults (ages 10 and up).
- Plate splitting fee will apply for any shared meals.
- Kid meals are available for children 3-9 years old.
Popular menu items include Chicken Gumbo starter (Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage and Peppers with Steamed Rice), Corn Fritters & Poblano Fritters starter (our group really enjoyed this!) or Strawberry & Pistachio Spinach Salad (Toasted Quinoa, Blue Cheese and Purple Radish & Balsamic Reduction).
For entrees, Blue Bayou is known for its Monte Cristo sandwich (also served at Cafe Orleans). I prefer ordering the Filet Mignon or Sustainable Market Fish. The fish type changes—I’ve had salmon and ahi tuna.
There might be some off-menu items or variations like Lemon Basil Pasta with added meat options.
Kids meals offer entrees like roasted chicken, petite filet and more. Be sure to check the menu before arrival so you know everyone in your party can find something they’ll enjoy. You can see the full menu here.
Blue Bayou Drinks & Desserts
But let’s not forget drinks and desserts! One of the most notable desserts is the Celebration Package Treasure Chest with Le Grand Courtage. It comes with Dark Chocolate Treasure Chest filled with Assorted Mignardise And Sparkling Wine, you can also order this with Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider.
Speaking of alcohol, it used to be the only place to purchase alcohol in Disneyland Park was the exclusive Club 33. But in 2019, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge arrived on the scene, so did Oga’s Cantina—and with it came plenty of drinks. Now, we also have drink options at Blue Bayou including the signature Hurricane Cocktail.
The Hurricane Cocktail is made of Bacardi Reserva Ocho Rum, Myer’s Original Dark Rum, Simply Orange Juice, Passion Fruit Puree, Grenadine and Lime Juice, Luxardo Maraschino Cherry and Orange garnish. You can also order various wines by the glass or a wine tasting selection. But in order to walk around with a beer or drink in hand, you’ll need to head to California Adventure Park.
If you’re like me and prefer the mocktail-type of selections, I suggest the Royal Street Signature Julep which is the usual mint flavor. Sometimes they’ll have seasonal Juleps as well. Add a souvenir glow cube to spice up the ambiance and you’re golden!
Blue Bayou Dining Package
In addition to hosting fabulous meals, Blue Bayou is also the host to premium dining packages. Most notably, Fantasmic. Fantasmic dining packages allows you dine by the Bayou’s enchanting glow and secure a reserved viewing space for Fantasmic later that same evening. The dining area and viewing area are separate locations. You can read more about Fantasmic here.

Do you know if you can use your reservation to only get drinks / dessert? Or is dinner required? Thanks!
Hi Cheryl, it is my understanding that you cannot order alcoholic drinks without a meal at this location. It is also discouraged from ordering dessert alone. They typically prefer you to have a meal there. If you’re looking for drink options, you can order drinks alone at many California Adventure quick service locations.
