Disneyland in July has tempratures heating up outside but there are so many reasons to visit Disneyland in July, in fact—our extended family goes every July as our family reunion. There are plenty of reasons we keep coming back for our very own summer celebration!

Disneyland in July Calendar of Events
Are you ready to live the summer time life at Disneyland this July? Even with the heat, there’s plenty of ways to keep cool this season I’m here to share how to navigate all the fun you’re about to have at Disneyland.
Disneyland in July Hours:
- Disneyland Park opens 8 am and closes at midnight.
- California Adventure Park opens at 8 and closes at 10 pm.
- Park hopping begins at 11:00 am for those with valid tickets and reservations.

July Events and Important Dates:

- If you’re spending the 4th of July at Disneyland, staying on site at a Disneyland Resort hotel is your best bet to experience it all! We tend to stay over the 4th of July often and always have a blast with pool days and theme park fun.
- Fireworks are a staple of summer fun; see the fireworks schedule here.
- Disneyland’s birthday on July 17, lots of guests like to celebrate by riding original, opening day attractions.
- July 21 Annual CHOC Walk to support Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Expect more crowds that weekend, but don’t stress too much about it! It’s all for a wonderful cause and I can help with your very own step by step Park Plan.
Disneyland July Crowd Levels
Crowds are a common concern for Disneyland guests—it’s tricky to navigate finding the best days with longer park hours, more open rides, a full entertainment schedule and low crowds.

If you’re super concerned about crowds I suggest you skip:
- The fourth of July
- July 21st during CHOC walk

Anything is possible, and when it comes to crowds it’s highly likely that even our best time guesses could miss the mark. However, I think these dates might be a good choice.
- July 5 has always been a fantastic rope drop day for our family since most people are slow to get up after the 4th
Add this info to any Disneyland crowd calendars you might see (they’re not my favorite) and plan accordingly.
Disneyland in July is the perfect month to plan a full pool day. Most hotels here in Anaheim have heated pools that are open year-round. But if you need the warmer weather to start your tan, I suggest a stay and a full day at The Disneyland Hotel pool.
I also love the new improved pool and deck area at Pixar Place Hotel.
Dressing for July Weather
You usually don’t need layers in July because it heats up quickly. One thing you will want to pack is extra underwear, socks and anything you might sweat through. It’s nice to have a fresh change during the day or just at night after a cool shower.
This summer season I am loving all the tennis skirts and running short that have built in bike shorts under, they’re super trendy and comfy for the parks, as are any type of sundress. You’d be amazed how comfortable that is!

2024 is the year for Disneyland discounts—Disney wants you to come for a vacation so there are a few options and discounts to help you visit Disneyland cheaper!
New Disneyland Summer Ticket Deal, what used to be reserved for only California Residents is getting an expansion! Snag this steal of a deal with the purchase of a three-day, one-park per day ticket, available for visits from June 10 through September 26, 2024. Tickets come as low as $50 per child (ages 3-9) and $83 per adult, per day.
