A Touch of Disney 2021

A Touch of Disney 2021 brings us a taste of Disney. It is what we all need to get things moving in the right direction—reopening Disneyland Resort.

While Disneyland won’t operate as a theme park, we’ll see and taste some of our favorite elements we’ve missed for over a year of theme park closures.

A Touch of Disney Quick Info

Here’s a quick run down of what to expect from A Touch of Disney 2021.

• A Touch of Disney runs March 18 through April 19, 2021, Thursday through Monday.
• Tickets are sold out at this time. They were sold at an introductory price of $75.
• Check here for tickets just in case something changes and they add capacity.
• No rides will be operating for guests to ride, but you may see some movement testing the rides for reopening
• Distant character sightings and tons of photo ops which I personally loved!
• All health and safety protocols will be in place.

What is A Touch of Disney 2021?

This sold out experience is reminiscent of the fabulous food festivals we know and love at California Adventure Park, but it will bring a fresh vibe to familiar events. Bring on a taste of our Disney favorites!

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock says, “an all-new, limited-time ticketed experience, focused on our world-famous food and beverage offerings from around the resort, the latest merchandise and unique, carefully crafted entertainment experiences…all to be offered multiple days a week. With limited capacity and enhanced health and safety measures in place.”

I attended A Touch of Disney opening night and will go a second time on day two. I loved the event and am so glad I was able to get tickets. It’s a touch buy-in for families because cost easily gets up there. But for me, I went with some vaccinated friends and attended with my dad and uncle on night two.

 

 

If you’re going, there’s so much to look forward to:

• Famous food and drinks from around the resort like churros, Dole Whip and snack sized Monte Cristo.
• select dining will also be open including Smokejumpers Grill, Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, Award Wieners, Cocina Cucamonga, Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge. I used mobile ordering for nearly everything! You can even add novelty items to your mobile order. It was so easy and less of a hassle!
• Shopping experiences. Save those for the end of the night but make sure to get inside shops before closing. There are no lockers during the event so plan to carry anything you purchase. 
• Unique entertainment options like a new, specially curated soundtrack of reimagined Disney songs will be broadcast throughout the park. 
• Catch a wave from Mickey Mouse and see some of his pals in unexpected settings. Mater and Lightning McQueen. may be seen in Cars Land, or Joy and Sadness at Pixar Pier, more details on those sightings below. 
• Limited capacity, man we’re gonna get spoiled here! It felt so amazing inside the park with such a limited number of people. 
• Enhanced safety measures, covered here.
• No rides or attractions will be operating for guests to ride.
• Special, limited tickets required which also gives you unlimited PhotoPass options and a $25 dining card to be used at most food and drink locations, but not on alcohol. 

I am trilled Disneyland has found a way to operate a limited capacity in the form of a food festival to delight guests and bring cast members back to work.

When is A Touch of Disney Food Festival? 

The food festival is currently planned for March 18 through April 19, 2021. It runs from noon to 8:00 pm Thursday through Monday.

Remember to grab table reservations for Lamplight Lounge or Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining beginning March 11. Table reservations do not provide admission to A Touch of Disney and dining at those locations requires A Touch of Disney ticket that is valid on the same day as the table reservation. 

 

 

If you haven’t secured a reservation, check in at Lamplight Lounge or Carthay Circle Lounge first thing upon arrival to see if walk up spots are available. 

How much are tickets?

A Touch of Disney tickets are sold out. They started at $75.

Where is A Touch of Disney Located? 

Disney’s all new Food Festival is celebrated at Disney California Adventure Park, most areas of the park are open to wander and walk through. 

 

 

What Time does it run?

It begins at noon and runs until 8 pm Thursdays through Mondays. Parking will open at Mickey & Friends before the event. Give yourself plenty of time to walk over from Mickey & Friends. No tram will be running. Wheelchairs and strollers are available to rent at Mickey & Friends. 

 

 

Can I use last year’s Sip & Savor Pass?

No, but any unused and attached Sip & Savor tabs are eligible for a refund as outlined here.

How much are tickets to A Touch of Disney?

A Touch of Disney tickets start at $75 per person, no price break for children but kids under 3 years old are free. Tickets are now sold out for this event.  

Here’s what included in your admission:

• Parking for the experience at Mickey & Friends parking structure.
• Unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the day of the experience.
• $25 A Touch of Disney dining card valid towards the purchase of food and non-alcoholic beverages (subject to restrictions including not being valid for alcohol). 

When do A Touch of Disney Tickets Go On Sale?

Remember, mobile ordering is available via the Disneyland App and you can begin to make table service reservations on March 11, 2021. 

I suggest planning your first eats as you walk over from Mickey and Friends, then placing your order as you walk into California Adventure. Then tap “I’m here, prepare my order” when you arrive at your dining location. Mobile ordering makes it so easy to browse menus without jumping from kiosk to kiosk or looking for the shortest line.

This is the first time we get to go back inside the parks with something to do other than eat and shop. Of course we won’t get to ride on our favorite attractions, but for someone like me who loves to explore the parks—just knowing I’ll get a bit closer to the iconic sights of California Adventure gets me super excited.

We’ve had a bit of Disney shopping to do on Buena Vista Street, but this event will expand even more into almost ALL of California Adventure Park. Not all shopping will be open, but let’s just say it’ll be better than your local Disney store.
