California Adventure Pregnant Rides

Plus, don’t forget to see my companion guide where I list everything to ride at Disneyland Park while pregnant. Including classics like “it’s a small world” and Haunted Mansion.

Can You Go to Disney California Adventure While Pregnant?

The answer is yes! You can totally go to California Adventure when pregnant. And expectant mothers do it every day. There’s even a filter on the Disneyland app and website where you can select “expectant mother advisory” and it will quickly pull up any rides you should skip (Goofy’s Sky School, Grizzly River Run, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, Incredicoaster and Radiator Springs Racers make the list).

Beyond those exclusions, there is plenty for you to do, see, eat and enjoy which we’ll get into in this article.

Pregnancy-Safe Rides at Disney California Adventure

First up, note this is not medical advice, always consult your physician before riding any attractions at Disney California Adventure. And what one doctor says to one patient doesn’t mean the same thing for you.

You’ll see tons of people in online forums sharing their doctor’s advice, but remember that their doctor treats them and knows their specific circumstances. And I am sure it also has to do with whether they’re in the first trimester, second trimester or even third trimester.

Here’s what you can ride, including lots of experience-type attractions:

  • Animation Academy. Learn to draw your favorite Disney characters in a nice air conditioned room.
  • Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. What used to be Flik’s Flyers in a bug’s land has a whole new look and location at Pixar Pier.
  • The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Just like the classic dark rides at Disneyland Park, it’s smooth sailing on this journey under the sea.
  • Jessie’s Critter Carousel. If you’re okay to go up and down on a critter, hop aboard–otherwise there are a couple of benches available to keep things stable.
  • Mickey’s Philharmagic. I love this show that runs throughout the day for a cool a/c and a good laugh. Located in Hollywood Land.
  • Sorcerer’s Workshop. A hidden gem in Hollywood Land with hands on activities you do at your own pace.
  • Toy Story Midway Mania. Turns are smooth but may be a little too quick, so be aware of that before boarding this interactive, gaming attraction.
  • Turtle Talk with Crush. Duuudddde! Get face to face with Crush from the Nemo movies and chat about cool stuff.
  • Pixar Pal-A-Round. Stable gondola only on this traditional ferris wheel ride. Note which line you’re getting into!
  • Monsters Inc, Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. Join Mike & Sulley on an adventure to get Boo home. CLOSING EARLY 2026.

And be sure to check out photos of seating arrangements here.

Spending a day at California Adventure is actually the perfect day of a Disneyland Resort vacation. Here it’s easy to pace yourself and not be on your feet as much as you would be over at Disneyland.

Rides to Avoid while Pregnant

I mentioned earlier, there is a filter on the Disneyland app and website where you can select “expectant mother advisory” and it will quickly pull up any rides you should skip.

California Adventure Expectant Mother Advisory

  • Goofy’s Sky School is a skip because it’ considered a thrill ride with sharp turns, drops and sudden, hard stops.
  • Grizzly River Run suggests to skip because its a thrill ride with large drops.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is the most obvious to me because of its sudden stops, lifts and drops over and over again, and the restraint will put pressure on your belly.
  • Incredicoaster another pretty obvious one with its upside-down loop, quick turns, drops and sudden stops, plus a pull down harness that needs to be close to your body for safety.
  • Radiator Springs Racers is a fast coaster at times, this is one I have heard different things from people but it is on Disney’s advisory list and does contain signage notifying pregnant moms to avoid.

Where to Rest and Cool Off at California Adventure

You need a place to relax and I’m here to help. Frequent stops for resting (and elevating) your feet can do wonders for your pregnant body. I also suggest grabbing a Vitamin Water or Powerade whenever possible.

Avengers Campus Break Spots

There aren’t many chill and cool down spots in this land right now. That might change in the future as 2 new attractions are slatted to join the line up. But for now I suggest:

  • Seating are next to Hyperion Theater
  • Small seating area just outside the exit of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Buena Vista Street Break Spots

Buena Vista Street is a fabulous place to hang out when you need a cool place to relax. I recommend the benches underneath the shaded overhead bridge or under a tree near the restroom and lockers.

You’ll also find Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe where you can relax inside and enjoy a snack, coffee or hot cocoa.

Fidler Fifer Practical Cafe

Another favorite is Carthay Circle if you get dining reservations. Inside is cool and dark, there may be a bit of a wait outside for a table but the plush and relaxing interior with delicious fine dinign.

The First Aid Center is also located on Buena Vista Street (right next to Chamber of Commerce) should you need any medical assistance or over the counter medication, head here.

Cars Land Rest Stops

Cars Land is mostly sunny and hot, but one spot that always calls my name for a break is outside at Flo’s V8 Cafe. Go to the side (south if you’re that kinda direction person) where you can see the cars race by on Radiator Springs Racers (view pictured below). Keep going, there’s tons of seating and lots of quieter places.

Grizzly Peak Rest Stops

If your feet just need a break but your kids are still busy and ready to play at the parks, you can let them run around in another favorite play area Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Grizzly Peak. My kids love this area.

Where to work at Disney California Adventure Park

Bonus: There’s only ONE entrance and exit here, so it’s easier to keep an eye on kids knowing this tip!

Hollywood Land Rest Stops

Inside the Animation Building is a ton of things to keep everyone busy and entertained. The calm lighting and air conditioning make it a haven for those needing a break.

Be sure to explore:

  • Animation Academy
  • Turtle Talk with Crush
  • Sorcerer’s Workshop
  • The lobby for a beautiful animation and music display

I also enjoy a break inside Mickey’s Philharmagic to sit down and keep the kids entertained.

Pixar Pier Rest Stops

Pixar Pier isn’t the best chill and relax spot, but Lamplight Lounge is a great break especially if you have a reservation.

Paradise Gardens Park Break Spots

The food and dining area in Paradise Gardens is beautiful and offers plenty of seating. Throughout the year there may be live entertainment in the area as well.

San Fransokyo Square Break Spots

San Fransokyo Square is home to the Baby Care Center on near Ghirardelli. In the Baby Care Center, you can take a rest from the noise and crowds. Otherwise, grab a seat at one of the many umbrella covered tables throughout this large food-court type area.

Must Haves for Visiting While Pregnant

There are a few must haves I think are essential to enjoying your trip to Disneyland while pregnant.

cropped cropped HBOELogoUpdate 1 1.png

  • Check with your doctor if you need medication for nausea and morning sickness (aka all day sickness)
  • If your feet just aren’t having it or that crazy sciatic nerve is acting up, consider an ECV rental.
  • I’ve also heard great things about the AZMED Maternity Belt to help support your belly and back during a long day on your feet. Made of breathable fabric, it is a top seller with stellar reviews to match.

A few other things you can bring to help make your day easier . . .

While we’re on the subject of hydration, you’ll want to download the official Disneyland app for a quick restroom locater. How awesome is that?!

What About the Pregnancy Pass Rumor?

We covered the rumor mill in our original article Disneyland and pregnant but just incase it’s not clear, let’s get this out of the way. Do not attempt to deliver your baby at California Adventure or Disneyland Resort.

Disney100 churro

Your child will NOT get a lifetime pass or even free churros on every visit.

Another rumor that’s circulating the web is a “pregnancy pass” to skip the lines. This is a little misleading. Disneyland uses the Disability Access Pass, which pregnant women might be offered on rare occasions. Typically, they will just refer you to renting a wheel chair instead and you can read those guidelines here.

But be warned, you will not skip waiting, you will just be given a return time and are free to do something else while you wait. This just makes it easier on your feet and body.

What is not a Disneyland and Pregnant rumor? You can get discount Disneyland tickets with our partners at Get Away Today, plus enjoy even more savings when you combine tickets with a hotel. Use promo code DLPlan10 and save an additional $10 on qualifying Disneyland packages.

Final Tips for a Pregnant Day at California Adventure

A successful day at Disney California Adventure while pregnant is all about preparation and pacing. Here are a few final tips worth repeating for the best day possible.

California Adventure Carthay

  • Download the Disneyland App to check wait times, mobile order meals, and easily locate restrooms and relaxation spots.
  • Plan for breaks often. Even 10–15 minutes in a shaded area like the Animation Building or Paradise Gardens can make a big difference.
  • Stay hydrated. Bring a refillable water bottle with a straw for easy sipping, and consider adding electrolyte packs to your park bag.
  • Use Mobile Order to skip long lines at restaurants and grab meals when you’re ready to sit down.
  • Consider renting an ECV if walking long distances becomes uncomfortable—it’s more common than you think, and Cast Members are always kind and helpful.
  • Avoid pushing your limits. You don’t need to do every attraction! Take in the atmosphere, enjoy the shows, and soak up the joy of being at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Pregnancy might change how you experience Disney Parks—but it won’t take away the Disney magic. You’re sure to have the best time with your family members enjoying a slower, more leisurely day.
