Avengers Campus at Disney Parks
The first Avengers Campus debuted at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California on June 4, 2021. But there’s more coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe both in size and HQs around the world:

The history between Marvel and Disney is robust—at the Disneyland Resort rumors bagan in 2009 when Disney bought Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion.
Over the years Disney struggle with ways to incorporate the newly acquired heroes into their theme parks, but it all comes together at Avengers Campus in California Adventure Park, and now throughout the world!
In years past, Captain America and other Marvel characters had short-term homes in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland and inside the short-lived Super Hero HQ.
In 2016, Marvel meet and greets were moved to California Adventure’s Hollywood Land and expanded once Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! arrived on the scene.
Now with Avengers Campus all things Marvel can be found in one spot.
What’s New at Avengers Campus
Disneyland Resort Avengers Campus opened in June 2021 and it keeps evolving along with new MCU releases on the big screen and Disney+.
- July 2024 Meet Deadpool and Wolverine at Avengers Campus
- August 2024 Announced at D23 including doubling the size of California’s Avengers Campus over the next several years
- New ride announced: Avengers Infinity Defense, more details below

Avengers Campus Entrance
Avengers Campus is here to recruit a new generation of Super Heroes and you’re invited! When you arrive at California Adventure, here are a few ways to gain access to the land.
You can enter Avengers Campus through one of three entrances:
- via Hollywood Land. Walk down Buena Vista Street, make a left on Hollywood Blvd and turn right at the Hyperion Theater and keep moving toward Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!
- via Parade Route, which serves as the main entrance to Avengers Campus.
- via Cars Land, head down Route 66 and turn left just past Cozy Cone Motel.
Will my Disneyland ticket get me into Avengers Campus?
Yes, your Disneyland ticket includes access to Avengers Campus, no extra cost is required. 
Where do I park to visit Avengers Campus?
Any Disneyland parking lot can be used for visits to Avengers Campus. Parking details are explained in my easy guide to parking at Disneyland.
Marvel Rides at Disneyland’s Avengers Campus
Avengers Campus puts you right in the action with a Spider-Man attraction, Guardians ride and even more heroic encounters with your favorite Super Heroes from Marvel coming!
There are three announced attractions at Avengers Campus:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!, now open
- Spider-Man attraction at WEB where you test the Web Slinger to collect Spider-Bots, now open
- Avengers Headquarters attraction, opening at a later date
- Avengers Infinity Defense, no opening date announced
- Stark Flight Lab, no opening date announced

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!
This is my favorite ride in all of the resort for it’s thrills!
- Height requirements 42 inches or taller.
- Seating in cage full of about 20 other people seated in rows of 3 or 4 with seat belts.
- Waiting mostly inside with messages informing riders about the situation at the power plant.
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass Available.
- What we love the new soundtrack can’t be beat!
- What we loathe that our beloved Hollywood Tower Hotel is now a power plant.
- Insider secrets the ride will feature one of six retro pop songs and you don’t need to be familiar with the movies to enjoy the ride.

The Spider Man attraction is similar to Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story but with all new tech. It’s super fun and a really good arm work out.
During an open house at WEB, the aspiring inventors are excited to invite you for a test drive of their latest invention: the “Web Slinger” vehicle, which allows you to sling webs just like Spider-Man!
The attraction gives you a taste of what it’s like to have actual super powers as you help Spider-Man collect Spider-Bots that have run amok
- Height requirements any height can ride.
- Seating in WEB Slinger vehicle with 4 across.
- Waiting mostly inside with an awesome pre-show presentation by Peter Parker himself.
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass Available.
- What we love this entirely new land celebrating all things Marvel.
- What we loathe how I can never manage to score very high on these things lol.
- Insider secrets score higher when you look for special colored spider bots!
By the end of the ride my arms were so tired I decided to see how many Spider-Bots I could catch by doing the Macarena. It was a good time.
Avengers Infinity Defense
Avengers Infinity Defense will begin construction in 2025.
Get ready for a multi-world adventure experience with Avengers Infinity Defense. Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere.
Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big, and small, heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with Thanos, too.

Stark Flight Lab
Stark Flight Lab will begin construction in 2025.
If you’re up for another mission, Tony Stark has one for you. And you know Tony, he always wants to try something new and exciting, and it’s going to make you feel like a Super Hero yourself. With the just announced Stark Flight Lab, you’re going to sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.
And, a familiar face will join you at the Stark Flight Lab — Mr. Stark himself. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark for the attractions in the land.

A few more things to know about the rides in Avengers Campus.
Does Avengers Campus have Rider Switch?
Yes, Disneyland will allow Rider Switch for these attractions, as needed. The Rider Switch feature allows parents or guardians traveling with small children to avoid waiting in line twice while taking turns on attractions.

Does Avengers Campus have Single Rider Lines?
Single Rider lines are available on select attractions throughout Disneyland Resort. There was a Single Rider line for Guardians of the Galaxy but it was omitted when it made the change from Tower of Terror.

Are Avengers Campus rides handicap accessible?
Absolutely! ADA riders can enjoy attractions at Avengers Campus as well as enjoy easy navigation through the land. California Adventure has massive walkways and every attraction queue can accommodate wheelchairs.

No, all locations are quick service and no dining reservations are needed at Avengers Campus. Mobile order via the Disneyland App is strongly encouraged.

Avengers Campus is in the former Bugs Land area and expands into backstage space. If you’re looking for a piece of Bug’s Land, hop on Emotional Whirlwind on Pixar Pier for some familiar flavor.

In the past, it’s the girly Disney Princesses that have all the fun, but with Avengers joining the Disney team, we’ve seen just how SUPER everyone can be at the Disneyland Resort.

Marvel and Disney History
Summer of Heroes event ended in 2017 this section is no longer being updated but remains here for a peek into the past. May 27 through September 10, 2017 “Summer of Heroes” will run at California Adventure. Here’s what to expect during “Summer of Heroes”.
- May 27th Grand Opening of Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout. Grab a FASTPASS first thing in the morning; we expect FASTPASSES to run out during the first few weeks (or months) of the new attraction’s opening.
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! – it’s a boom-box style rock ‘n roll party in the often underused area of Hollywood Land that once hosted the popular Mad T. Party dance party.
- Marvel character encounters including Star-Lord, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Hawkeye or Captain America.
- Avengers Training Initiative – Black Widow and Hawkeye assemble young recruits for a series of tests to see if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the Avengers. We expect this to be similar to Jedi Training with an Avengers twist.
- Special Avengers merchandise and dining options
