If you’re looking for the best value hotels for Disneyland by staying in a nearby city, you’re int he right place. I am a big supporter of the closest Disneyland hotels, but sometimes room size, amenities (like free breakfast, mini fridge, etc) and most of all—price can be a huge factor.
This article will explore cheap hotels near Disneyland including Buena Park, Garden Grove and Fullerton, all located within about a 15-20 minute drive to Disneyland Resort.
If you’re looking for walkable Disneyland hotels, I have tons of reviews sharing which ones are a short 5-10 minute walk to the theme parks, including these walking distance off-site hotels.
Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels:
- Tropicana Inn & Suites (closest hotel on this list)
- The Anaheim Hotel
- Castle Inn & Suites
- Desert Palms Hotel
- Howard Johnson with water park / water playground
- Grand Legacy at the Park
- Courtyard Theme Park Entrance with water park and bunk beds (but often pricier than other off-property hotels)
- Fairfield Inn (tons of connecting rooms)
And the most affordable Disney Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel.
Cities to Stay Near Disneyland
Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim, in Orange County, California. While many people choose to stay right in Anaheim, there are several areas close by that can offer larger rooms, perks like free parking, hot breakfast and often a cheaper price per night.
I’d consider staying in the following cities near Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for cheaper prices:
- Buena Park near Knott’s Berry Farm, I’ve stayed at the Knott’s Hotel which has also been renovated in 2024.
- Garden Grove. I’ve stayed at the Sheraton Garden Grove Anaheim South. The area has a hub of hotels with tons of nearby shopping at dining, plus easy transportation on the ART shuttle.
- Fullerton is an easy drive right to Disneyland Park and home of Cal-State Fullerton (Go Titans!).
All of these Disneyland hotel options are in Orange County, California just a few miles from Disneyland Resort and close to the area airports with Santa Ana probably being the most central to each of these options, but Long Beach is also a smart choice.
However, if you’re driving in to Disneyland, there’s no need for an airport at all. But you will want a place that offers free parking. Let’s dive into each of my top choices for cheaper hotels near Disneyland.
Disneyland Area Hotels in Buena Park
There are several hotels in Buena Park to choose from and you’ll also be close to the extras you can add to your Disneyland vacation:
- Knott’s Berry Farm is known for being California’s first theme park and offers big thrills, everything boysenberry and the famous Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
- In summer, don’t forget to add on Knott’s Soak City Waterpark to your trip. It’s a great way to spend a lazy day on Sunset River or exploring 23 speed, tube and body slides.
- Medieval Times is a Buena Park classic, I grew up going to this show for birthdays, special occasions and dates as a teen. It’s a 2 hour performance and show with live horses and knights that includes a 4 course medieval feast!
Now that you’re a bit more familiar with the area, I’ll share my top hotel picks in Buena Park.
DoubleTree by Hilton Buena Park
You’re just 5 miles from Disneyland in this Hilton brand hotel and of course it comes with their famous warm chocolate chip cookies for all guests. DoubleTree is also just one block from Knott’s Berry Farm and an easy walk over to their theme parks.
How to get to Disneyland: reserve the free hotel shuttle in advance and you’ll have a free, easy drive over to Disneyland without paying theme park parking fees.
Other perks of the DoubleTree in Buena Park includes:
- Free onsite parking
- Spacious guest rooms
- Huge outdoor heated swimming pool
- Beautiful gardens throughout the property
- Kids12 and under eat free at their in-house restaurant

Knott’s Hotel
Newly renovated rooms in 2024 means this classic hotel is better than ever! I stayed here prior to the renovations but love what I have seen so far of the new, luxury hotels look. Of course when you stay at Knott’s Hotel you’re right next to Knott’s Berry Farm and within a short drive to Disneyland Resort.
How to get to Disneyland: drive to Disneyland and park onsite in one of Disney’s parking garages or lots. You can also opt to take a ride share like Uber or Lyft as long as you don’t need any car seats. Knott’s Hotel offers a really great value of less than $200 a night for weekends at the time of publishing.
Other perks of Knott’s Hotel in Buena Park include:
- Free parking when you book with my travel partners
- Large outdoor pool
- Kids’ splash zone
- Sport court

Disneyland Area Hotels in Garden Grove
There is a nice little hotel hub in Garden Grove with easy access to ART shuttle services.
These hotels are on Harbor Blvd. as well which means you’re a straight drive away from Disneyland Resort. Just take Harbor Blvd. north into Anaheim and you’ll see the Toy Story Parking lot on your right.
Target is also right across the street from this hotel hub along with tons of dining options to grab something to eat.
Now that you’re a bit more familiar with the area, I’ll share my top hotel picks in Garden Grove.
Sheraton Garden Grove Anaheim South
I stayed at the Sheraton Garden Grove in 2024 and had the best sleep there! The beds are ones you’ll only find at Sheraton hotels, but you’ll also get the same perks you’re used to from Marriott brand hotels.
How to get to Disneyland: When I stayed at Sheraton I used ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) shuttle, it was my first time using ART on my own. I’ve used it as part of press trips when we had our own private ART but this was pretty simple. The ART tickets are super affordable and connect with the A-Way WeGo app.
Other perks of Sheraton Garden Grove Anaheim South include:
- Free breakfast when you book with my link
- Free onsite parking when you book with my partners
- Outdoor pool and hot tub
- Super comfy beds in all standard rooms

Disneyland Area Hotels in Fullerton
My sister went to Cal-State Fullerton and lived out there for years. Back in the day we’d often spend the night at her place and drive right over to Disneyland. It’s such an easy, quick drive but a lot of people don’t consider Fullerton when they’re looking for Disneyland hotels.
For this area, I’d go with the Marriott Fullerton. I personally love the Marriott brand and this hotel has been completely redesigned. The hotel rooms are fresh and modern. It’s right next to Cal State Fullerton and in close proximity to Disneyland.

Not only will you be able to take advantage of free amenities like free breakfast, parking and WiFi, but you can relax in spacious, renovated rooms that include a King or 2 Double Beds. This spot is best for visitors who will be using their own car. The average price at time of publishing was about $217 per night.
I hope this article helps you find some of the best hotels near Disneyland Resort and Anaheim Convention Center without breaking the bank. While Anaheim hotels tend to fill up quickly and for at pricier rates, these guest rooms might be just what you need.
