Plan a Thanksgiving Feast at Disneyland

Thanksgiving at Disneyland Resort sounds like the most magical of holidays: imagine no cooking, no cleaning, and relatives are totally optional.

Thanksgiving at Disneyland in 2026 is Thursday, November 26, and yes, you can absolutely spend the holiday at Disneyland. In fact, Thanksgiving falls during Disneyland’s holiday season, so you’ll get the bonus of Christmas decorations, seasonal entertainment and holiday treats along with your Thanksgiving celebration.

Whether you’re looking for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, character dining, a quick meal inside the parks or somewhere to escape the crowds for a few hours, I’ll walk you through your options and what I’d actually choose for my own family.

Most of these highly sought-after experiences require advance dining reservations, which typically open up to 60 days in advance. 

Last updated August 2026: I’m watching for Disneyland’s 2026 Thanksgiving dining announcements and will add menus, prices and reservation details as Disney releases them.

While I mention how important it is to plan early, Disney itself isn’t super great about publishing the Thanksgiving menus in advance. With that in mind you can always make dining reservations when they open since no payment is required up front. Then when menus are released you can make a final decision.

Thanksgiving at Disneyland Resort Hotels

You may not have time to sit down for a two or three hour Thanksgiving Day meal. Or maybe you missed out on dining reservations, and that’s totally okay.

Is Disneyland Crowded on Thanksgiving?

Is it going to be crowded at Disneyland on Thanksgiving? You’d be surprised at how many people want to spend their Thanksgiving day at Disneyland as well. 

But, I wouldn’t choose Thanksgiving at Disneyland because I expect low crowds. I’d choose it because I want the combination of Disneyland and the holiday season. If crowds aren’t your thing, make your expectations realistic and build your day around a few priorities instead of trying to do everything.

Here’s what I would do to make Thanksgiving at Disneyland worth it:

1. Get discount tickets and book reservations prior to your arrival
2. Download the official Disneyland app and get familiar with layout layout of the resort
3. Arrive in time for park opening and “rope drop” a few priority rides
4. Plan an afternoon or early evening Thanksgiving day meal
5. Build your evening and night around holiday entertainment

On a day like Thanksgiving, Disneyland is more about quality than quantity. Take it slow, limit your priorities and celebrate what you’re thankful for, with the people you’re most thankful for.

Past Disneyland Thanksgiving Traditions

In recent years, Disney has shifted its holiday dining strategy away from massive banquet spreads toward more intimate, relaxed Thanksgiving meals. Guests looking to celebrate Thanksgiving at the resort now turn to featured holiday offerings at spots like Napa Rose, Storytellers Cafe, or Goofy’s Kitchen.

While these smaller, focused buffets offer a much less frazzled family experience, long-time visitors still hold fond memories of the legendary grand spreads that once filled the Disneyland Hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

The last time Disney hosted its iconic Grand Ballroom Thanksgiving Dinner was in 2019. It was a beloved, over-the-top tradition complete with live musical serenades, fall crafts, and rare character encounters.

Families received reserved time slots for minimal-wait photo opportunities with Disney characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pocahontas, Meeko, and Snow White with Dopey at a Wishing Well set up.

The menu was full of Prime rib of beef, roast turkey, chicken, savory gravy, and cranberry sauce, assorted meats and cheeses, smoked salmon, jumbo prawns, spinach blend, harvest blend, sweet potatoes, and vegetable ratatouille. There was hot sides and soups like mashed potatoes, cranberry apple stuffing, sweet potatoes, seasonal vegetables, fish, and seasonal soups.

You could dine on various pastas, sauces, accompanying meats, and vegetarian options. Parents loved that kids had their favorites too like chicken nuggets and  macaroni and cheese. The Dessert Spread was nothing short of incredible with soft-serve ice cream, a chocolate fondue fountain, and mini portion treats for sampling maximum variety.
