Gold medals, childhood dreams, and happily ever afters—I’m bringing you The Ultimate 2028 LA Olympics and Disneyland Adventure Guide!
See which events are near Disneyland Resort, see what’s happening during the Olympics at Disneyland including Mickey Mouse’s 100th birthday celebration. I’ll also share how to navigate Southern California, get discount theme park tickets and hotel stays during your Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games / Disney vacation.
Inside Look at 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games
Los Angeles hosts the 2028 Summer Olympic Games which includes events in various southland counties like Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County and more. The last time LA hosted in 1984, I was too young to remember but I am determined to be part of this one!
There will also be Summer Olympic events near Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
- July 14, 2028 LA28 Opening Ceremonies
- July 30, 2028 LA28 Closing Ceremonies
- August 15, 2028 LA28 Paralympic Opening Ceremonies
- August 27, 2028 LA28 Paralympic Closing Ceremonies
But before the Olympic games come to LA, they’ll be held in Paris, close to Disneyland Paris in 2024. It’ll be interesting to compare how the resorts welcome world athletes in each country. We should also mention the Tokyo Olympics 2020, that was postponed and ran in 2021 near the Tokyo Disney Resort.
Disneyland Resort and LA28
What’s more iconic that celebrating the Summer Olympic games? Celebrating in Los Angeles AND at Disneyland Resort! 2028 not only brings the best athletes in the world to LA, it also marks the 100th birthday of Mickey Mouse, plus tons of reasons to celebrate GOLD all year long in 2028.
As we prepare for the olympics, Disney will no doubt be preparing for a celebration like no other and I’ll continue to update this article with all the details. Please note that Disneyland Resort tickets are not yet on sale for 2028. I anticipate 2028 Disneyland tickets to go on sale late 2026.
Note: Walt Disney World Resort is in Florida and is not near the Los Angeles Olympic events. It is about a 5 hour plane ride and a 40 hour drive from LA to Orlando.
